If they're going to jail for some ridiculous, victimless crime (like possession) yes. Not if they're guilty of an actual crime with an actual victim.

it depends on the reason. Too much government and hysteria is making a mockery of our court system in making just sentences in my opinion.

I say Good Riddance. Unless they're truly innocent. It's not hard to follow the law to a certain extent :o

    Seems it's a lot harder to "follow the law" in the US than in your country or in any other Western country (I live in France). You probably don't know that the incarceration rate in America is FIVE TO TEN TIMES HIGHER than in our countries;
They have a very prosperous private "prison industrial complex".

I was answering in terms of my life, and my country. But I still believe it can be done. I have no sympathy for them.

Its all about perception. sure they did something bad but by who's standards? My ideals are different from most people if not everybody noone is the same but everyone should be equal. If they act upon what they view as right and moral then who are you to judge them. would the world be chaotic and anarchist in some sense yes, but that is how we are supposed to exist. so personally i believe all Jails shouldn't exist they are pointless and meaningless devices for people to feel like they have power over one another. and to enforce a certain ideal among the people.

So if someone murdered your child, you wouldn't want them to go to jail?

I don't because I have made it almost 62 freakin' years without ending up in the slammer. And if I can do it, anybody can.

I find though generally speaking (I know this going to piss some people off, but oh well) that the average clown who gets busted and ends up in jail....has the IQ of a plant. But they will try to convince you that they have the world by the nads...and "ain't nobody got nothin; on them...and they being dere' is a mistake, and dere lawyer gonna square it away real quick".....a couple of years later and their lawyer still be working on it....

Four simple rules for a life of freedom:
    1. Shut your pie hole in public cuz NO-ONE cares what you think.
    2. Keep your nasty little hands to your self at all times.
    3. If someone actually asks your opinion...act stupid and say nothing, its a trap.
    4. If you have trouble with the previous 3 rules, stay the hell home and watch TV, and never leave your house, apartment, trailer house, closet or mommies house.
5, this one is extra, and important: STOP THINKING YOU ARE AN F'ING MASTERMIND AND EVERYONE ELSE ON THE PLANET IS STUPIDER THAN YOU!!!

When in doubt, read rules 1 through 3 over and over and over again til you fall asleep.

Only if they're truly innocent and don't belong there. Otherwise the true criminals got what they deserve when they chose their path. Choose the behavior, then live with the consequences.

If you are talking about in the schools...I say NO!!! I prefer to do the spanking in the vincinity of my own house, I would not trust a teacher or any other adult like that with my child. They can realy to me the behavior and I will deal with it. That is a problem too. Teachers and parents need to communicate with each other!!!

Are you so much more evil than us, or is your judicial system too often run by the prison-industrial complex?

Nah....we just have a lot of stupid, emotional and impulsive boneheads running loose on the streets.... Most of them do the same stupid crap over and over and never learn that they will always get caught.....or they want to get caught because they are too stupid or lazy to work, and they get three hots and a cot in jail....

I've often thought our system was too freaking lenient!

We need to go back to the stocks, flogging, keel hauling, public hangings, and take air conditioning, libraries, conjugal visits, TV, and clean laundry away from them. Treat them like criminal scum...make their life a living hell.... Kind f like the frenchies "Devils Island"....tee hee.
