After more than a decade fighting the "Global War on Terror" and with the death of Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden the bombing in the Middle East continues. It is no secret that many security measures were taken and policy changes made to ensure that Americans would feel safe and confident in their government. Americans understood that the only way to ensure our victory would be to do whatever it takes.

The Patriot Act established under the Bush administration and later extended by the Obama administration, for our safety, allowed legal wiretapping of our phone calls and e-mails and general spying on people without a warrant.

The Department of Homeland Security and the TSA where also added to the fed budget at the annual cost of nearly 100 Billion. They quickly went to work implementing full body scanners, pat-downs and overall harrassment at the airport. They have also set up random check points to randomly stop and search vehicles and people without a warrant or probable cause.

The NDAA signed under the Obama administration and supported by Mitt Romney includes provisions for the military to arrest and indefinately detain US citizens and hold them in secret prisons without charge, lawyer or trial doing away completely with the Bill of Rights.

H.R. 347 Trespass bill recently passed to keep people from trespassing on federal restricted buildings and grounds. "Under the act, the government is also given the power to bring charges against Americans engaged in political protest anywhere in the country." Thereby making this type of freedom of speech unlawful.

Congress has recently approved an FAA re-authorization act that calls for 30,000 spy drones by 2020 to patrol the skies ending a right to privacy.

In conclusion, as we continue seeing the further militarization of local police, court-approved gps vehicle trackers, and possible rfid National ID cards....and now that our homes and neighborhoods have become the "battlefield"...

Do you feel safer now than before 9/11??!!

This regime has done everything in its power to remove any sense of security. The list of crimes and offenses is almost endless. As are the attacks on our liberties.

Do not worry the weather will change! Climate is always in flux! Just see what the sun is doing and that will predict the climate on this planet. Nothing else can effect it.

Waste of time; the knuckle draggers want to believe in skyscrapers falling down in Wall St. with not a single brick falling on another property, nothing hitting 7, plane hitting the Pentagon, but landing in PA. Watching a few charges going off is not going to change their minds.

The Obama Administration has declared the war on terror over. Yet TSA groping continues, the patriot act is still in effect, drones are to be flying over the U.S. Spying on Americans.
So if the war on terrorism is over. What the hell is going on now? The war on Americans?

The war on terrorism is not over. The NAME has been changed from "The War On Terror":

In March 2009 the Defense Department officially changed the name of operations from "Global War on Terror" to "Overseas Contingency Operation" (OCO).[35] In March 2009, the Obama administration requested that Pentagon staff members avoid use of the term, instead using "Overseas Contingency Operation".[35] - Wiki

I believe the "TSA groping" should continue to prevent aircraft hijackings regardless of the Islamist threat.

Interesting quote, but how does it pertain to the TSA? What liberty is sacrificed? The freedom to hijack?

TSA searches may be as invasive as customs searches for good reason! You can avoid both by avoiding those portals.

The TSA is blatanly violating the 4th amendment. An airport is not federal property. If they can just put up a sign and say that you are subject to search beyond this point. Were is the limiting principle? What is preventing them from moving that sign put side the airport? That is a violation of our liberty sir. The liberty to not be searched without just cause.
  • Kaleoku... Dan (Po... 2012/05/01 02:44:40 (edited)
    Kaleokualoha
Security searches are "reasonable" IAW the 4th Amendment, because they enhance airplane security. It is a choice. Flying is voluntary. Anyone can avoid those checks by avoiding airports. It's just like "implied consent" for driver sobriety checks.

Do you believe that customs searches are "unreasonable" IAW the 4th Amendment?
  • Dan (Po... Kaleoku... 2012/05/01 10:46:57 (edited)
    Dan (Politicaly Incorrect)
Still, were is the limiting principle? What is keeping them from moving outside of the airport? Did you know that the TSA is moving into bus terminals? It will not stop there either.

Customs searches are entirely different. Any Country has the right to search what is coming in. We are talking about travel within the
    country.

How can you say the searching a toddler or an elderly person in a wheelchair is reasonable? Radiating people, putting their hands in peoples pants without changing their glove, walking bear foot on a dirty floor. Reasonable? You sir are delusional.
