According to a recent Gallup poll, Americans’ confidence in television news is at an all-time low. In 1993, when Gallup first started tracking confidence in our news networks, 46% of adults expressed a great deal or quite a lot of confidence. By last year, the percentage had dropped to 27%. This year, it’s even lower at 21%.
Interestingly, confidence levels dropped across almost all subgroups regardless of age, gender, political beliefs, or education. It used to be that conservatives were more skeptical of TV news than liberals and moderates. But in recent years, confidence within the latter two groups has plummeted and is now about even with conservatives.
“It is not clear precisely why Americans soured so much on television news this year compared with last,” read the Gallup report. “Americans' negativity likely reflects the continuation of a broader trend that appeared to enjoy only a brief respite last year. Americans have grown more negative about the media in recent years, as they have about many other U.S. institutions and the direction of the country in general.”
Gallup also went to great lengths to point out that this data was collected weeks before both CNN and Fox News mistakenly reported that the Supreme Court had found the Affordable Healthcare Act unconstitutional. It’s likely that this incident of erroneous reporting may have further soured Americans on television news.
So, what about you SodaHeads? Do you feel confident in the television news?

Rathergate
Climategate
TEA Party put-down
OWS build-up
What they did TO Sara Palin
What they did FOR Obama
And recently:
Trayvon Martin
Fast & Furious
etc.
Just this week... Obama makes that controversial comment at his Roanoke speech: Fox carried it, ABC News did a little blip on it, CBS - nothing, NBC - nothing, ABC - nada, CNN - zip

...so Fox News averages 1.9 million viewers daily.
Compare that to the other networks...

Given this list of news sources, which channel do you think that EVERY SINGLE LIBERAL said that they distrusted the most, hmmm?
[Outlet]
PBS
NBC
CNN
Fox News
CBS
ABC
Since it's the only source in the list that doesn't lean left...the poll numbers are useless.
The questionnaire was not set up as a RANKING poll, there were individual questions for each news source. So Conservatives could answer "Yes" to BOTH questions:
Q4 Do you trust Fox News or not?
Q6 Do you trust PBS or not?
PBS was trusted by a significant percentage of ALL groups which pushed it to the top.
Liberals 76%
Moderates 65%
Conservatives 22%
Fox News was almost unanimously distrusted by Liberals (82%) and the Moderates were fairly well split over it. So as previously mentioned, all that hatred from the liberals concentrated on a single channel was enough to send it straight to the bottom.
http://www.publicpolicypollin...
...since only 72% of conservatives polled placed Fox News as a source that they can trust, it suggests that many conservatives do trust another source of news more than Fox.
According to the survey, 16% of conservatives polled suggest that they do not trust Fox News.
Did you not understand that this was NOT a RANKING poll? Did you not click on the link and view the ACTUAL poll questions?
Each news station had it's OWN question: "Do you trust it? Yes / No / Not Sure" So Conservatives could vote that they trusted Fox and ALSO vote yes that they trusted other stations.
The ranking comes from counting up all the votes at the END! There was no "Which one of these do you trust more" question! I don't know how to say it any simpler.
According to the survey, 16% of conservatives polled suggest that they do not trust Fox News.
...actually what the polls suggest is that most people overwhelming choose to watch news shows that most Fox News viewers would consider to be left wing, and that most people trust these sources over Fox News.

...I was merely pointing out that most people overwhelming get their news from sources that most Fox News viewers would consider to be left wing, and that most people trust these sources over Fox News.
Even though I barely mentioned them, you come on like gangbusters with all your anti-Fox links and such ....whining about how Fox came in dead last in some poll. You then post this:
"If the American people ever wake up and realize that they are paying for a network that many of them disagree with, and demand to be given the ability to financially support only the channels that they watch, the future of Fox News will be in doubt."
Sounds to me like someone has a severe case of Foxaphobia
There is an overwhelming liberal bias in most TV News Channels.

I wasn't there, but I don't need to be there to know that much of what was reported was completely wrong. Hell the Prosecutor released evidence disproves much of it.
Here is a short list of things reported by the media in this case:
