My girlfriend and I have a game we play. It's "Drunk, Old or Texting." As we approach another vehicle on the road that is swerving or off kilter we try to guess one of the three. 8 out of 10 times: TEXTING. Anyone who does this is an idiot. I have been involved in four accidents in the past 12 years caused by people and their cellphones. Two resulted in permanent injuries and physical therapy. At least 10-15 per week (I keep count) I am in a near accident situation where It's a really good thing I was paying attention, because someone else was not! I'm pretty sure the next time it happens, I'm going to jail and the person who caused the accident will be digesting their teeth.

Yep, just saw a woman go through a red light yesterday and came super close to getting crashed into by traffic in both directions.

In society people put up fronts. A fake smile, and you are 'hey, they're smiling. They must be a nice person'.

Just like the driving test. They put on a front.
I never drive, I walk everywhere. But that might not keep me safe.

My hubby was just in an accident on Friday....not his fault. He was stopped at a stoplight behind two other vehicles. A young lady , going 45 MPH...rammed into the back of my Hubby, and pushed him into the back of the car ahead. Totalled our car! She claims that her brakes failed on her Ford F-150 truck....though she was texting when she jumped out of the truck! Yeah.....right!

Thanks! The doctor says he has a second degree whiplash and he'll have to take Physio for a bit.
The tow truck driver said he was lucky to be alive....he saw another accident similar to this just awhile back and a whole family of five were killed.
No alcohol involved in my hubby's accident...just plain inattentiveness while driving I think! Sorry to hear about your friend's sister. Alcohol and driving don't mix...texting or using the cell phone don't either! They can be deadly combinations.
We are counting our blessings that my hubby is still here!!

All the time and trust me when I say, as bad as you think drivers are, they are much worse than you know. I get to piss them off even more and there isn't a damn thing they can do about it. It's a job I enjoy. =0)

Sometimes.
Today I was asking "Who gave this douche a job?"
I was walking home and crossing the street and almost got hit by a taxi, even though. a) he had a STOP sign (which he slightly slowed down for) and b) pedestrians have the right-of-way. And there's no way he didn't see me I was practically in the middle of the road and he still tried to go. Dumbass.

ya i was comming back of wal mart and theres no cross walk yet... and i was crossing the road and a motorcyle dude was going way to fast and i had to stop in the middle of the road to let him pass cuz he was not slowing down and a transport truck got mad at me ... i was like i dont want to die thank you (shakes head)

Most are on cell phones! Speeders following to close, but there is a blind spot and you can not see usually i try not to stay in a blind stop too long- stay aware of your position at all time.But you can not if traffic is surrounding you on all sides !

I worked on and off in New Jersey and its hard to believe there are any cars in that state that does not have a dent. I passed a state cop doing 85 and thought I was going to get pulled over before I realized I was just moving with the flow of traffic.

When I was young, one of my jobs when I was going to college was driving an airport shuttle. I had to get a "limo license" as it was called. I am a very good driver and being a woman, I have no "women can't drive" bias so I see it equally in men and women. They do different, but equally stupid things. Here in Vegas, I know for a fact that there are a higher number of people who drive without licenses than in most cities. It's actually a problem here.

One woman was doing her hair using both hands.
Another driver was weaving more than the full width of a lane at more than 15 under the posted limit. Didn't want to follow but afraid to pass.
