During the sixties when scum suckers like the Clinton's and Traitors like Kerry were advancing the communist agenda back then. When the so called citizens and cowards ran off to Canada and that butt wipe Ford pardon them, when the dope smoking flea infested flower child did not realize that they were nothing but tools for the communist democrat machine to use, when that bitch and whore Jane Fonda was the hero of the revolution celebrating the deaths of my fellow soldiers at the hands of the f**ken vietnamese communist.

    Yea I remember very well.

I truly believe this is still an agenda of the far left 70's leaders to bring down the USA, and make it another socialist european like nation instead of the freedom loving, hard working nation we have always been.

The early 1970s were pretty divisive, but I think it is worse now.

The 1960's. That was an "interesting" time. And I think the next big fight is going to be the "99%" against the "1%" just like France had. A lot of people, myself included, are getting damn sick and tired of seeing our wealthiest make out like THIEVES while the rest of us have to scrape by.

It has always been divided, such a large country can be nothing but divided. Social media has just put highlighter pens over those divisions.

Yes, when Richard Nixon resigned the presidency and Vietnam was still going on. When Ford pardoned him people like Teddy Kennedy went ape. To his credit, 20 years later Kennedy admitted to Ford publicly that prosecuting Nixon would have torn the country apart. It was worse then. These jokers just have to handle the debt. If they don't they should all be thrown out.

I wasn't alive in 1960, and yes, that was worse. As mad as we are now, let's be thankful that we are not at a state of collective rage were people are literally taking arms against their own brothers and neighbors.

Well this is not a personal memory. Historically during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars and post recovery periods the hate and division was bad. You can also throw in the period during and immediately after the Depression.

Seems to me the Civil War might qualify as being more divided. The 60's were no cake walk either.

Might? Brothers stuck bayonets into each other during that war. One half of the nation was willing to kill the other half - even family to keep an entire race of people enslaved.

That was bad, but that was one small pocket of a very large city. To compare that to the Civil War - entire states literally branching off to form a separate nation and take up arms to defend keeping people enslaved - that's another.
