Do you ever get annoyed when people on here say "If you don't like it here then find another country"

Absolutely. They sound like arrogant buttholes.

Yes, it's silly. Everyone has different ideas on how a country should operate. Disagreeing with how it currently is going is normal.

Apparently if we have a different opinion we best get the hell out.

A bit, I suppose. It is just a smug, cheap shot from someone who doesn't agree with the dissatisfaction. The US certainly has its flaws, all of which should be open for discussion, the more candid the better.

Depends on what it's in reference to. When people are putting down America and talking about how some other country is so much better you have to wonder why they're here and not there. I'm still waiting for Alec Baldwin to pack his fat butt up and make his exit.

I think those who desire living in a socialist country should move to one and quit trying to turn the USA into a socialist country.

To some degree. I mean, if you want to bitch, moan, and gripe about "here," impotently, that's one thing. If you actually want to be pro-active and do something about it, then leave. There is a diverse plethora of countries out there, each with different methods of governance. Find one that suits your liking, and enjoy. Personally, I'm rather fond of Hong Kong's free market.

What annoys me are the whiners and snivelers that constantly wail "Oh, woe is us!" and never offer anything as a possible solution to a problem. I also get annoyed with those that think they have the right to just arbitrarily impose their beliefs on others.

You don't like it here, work to improve it. If you're not willing to work at improving it, leave - you won't be missed.

The message was loud and clear on Sept 11th.

I left, the hell hole called USA...

Yes. Even more annoying is that I seem to care more about this country than they do, and I'm an immigrant.

Well, as one who actually CAN trace his ancestry back to the Mayflower and whose relatives have fought in every war since the French & Indian War, I find it QUITE annoying.

No. If you complain about our country but do nothing to improve it you should shut up. If you say a different country is better, then you HAVE TO move there.

Only when they're assuming what country I'm from. And even then half of my annoyance is coming from the assumption.

Seriously, it's very annoying...Instead of challenging my problems, I guess I'm supposed to just pack up and leave my house, right? WRONG! Last I heard, America is a republic and sometime democracy (depending on the President). Therefore, I have the right to say no. "Just because life is good for YOU doesn't mean I have to live YOUR life..." is something along the lines of what I tell those people in response.

I do. My family has been here since the 1500's. I have been told I should leave several times because I do not share conservatives' beliefs. I have no plans to leave. I want to work to make our country better.

No. Most of the people that say get out of the country would not know a good solution or suggestion if it bit them on the butt.

I usually treat it as what it is - a lame way of justifying a poor position / principle. It's kinda like the "let's agree to disagree" line - just another way of saying "I can't have this conversation without getting emotional." lol jmo
