Processing Is the
Problem

The path that transforms healthy milk products into allergens and
carcinogens begins with modern feeding methods that substitute high-protein,
soy-based feeds for fresh green grass and breeding methods to produce cows
with abnormally large pituitary glands so that they produce three times more
milk than the old fashioned scrub cow. These cows need antibiotics to keep
them well.

Their milk is then pasteurized so that all valuable enzymes are destroyed
(lactase for the assimilation of lactose; galactase for the assimilation of
galactose; phosphatase for the assimilation of calcium).

Literally dozens of other precious enzymes are destroyed in the
pasteurization process. Without them, milk is very difficult to digest. The
human pancreas is not always able to produce these enzymes; over-stress of
the pancreas can lead to diabetes and other diseases.

The butterfat of commercial milk is homogenized, subjecting it to
rancidity. Even worse, butterfat may be removed altogether. Skim milk is
sold as a health food, but the truth is that butter-fat is in milk for a
reason.

Without it the body cannot absorb and utilize the vitamins and minerals
in the water fraction of the milk. Along with valuable trace minerals and
short chain fatty acids, butterfat is America's best source of preformed
vitamin A.

Synthetic vitamin D, known to be toxic to the liver, is added to replace
the natural vitamin D complex in butterfat. Butterfat also contains
re-arranged acids which have strong anti-carcinogenic properties.

Non-fat dried milk is added to 1% and 2% milk. Unlike the cholesterol in
fresh milk, which plays a variety of health promoting roles, the cholesterol
in non-fat dried milk is oxidized and it is this rancid cholesterol that
promotes heart disease.

Like all spray dried products, non-fat dried milk has a high nitrite
content. Non-fat dried milk and sweetened condensed milk are the principle
dairy products in third world countries; use of ultra high temperature
pasteurized milk is widespread in Europe.

while I can't truthfully say I NEVER use it. I do use it in recipes, but I won't drink pasteurized, homogenized milk. Another reason, not mentioned here, is that when milk is pasteurized, it is thought that all impurities are killed - but that's not enough for me to be happy, because even cows which have mastitis are milked - so the milk contains not only chemicals and hormones, but also pus! Yuck!

In my youth, my mother practically force fed the stuff to me. I was rarely allowed a soda. Now, or course, I hate milk and love Diet Dr. Pepper.

A certain percentage of this is pure sip.
Drinking Raw Milk used to be safe, I grew up drinking it and when it was returned from the plant it was colored pink and we had to feed it to the pigs.....it had to much bacteria in it.
Every milk producer today tells you that their product is rBST free and you have to believe them.
I will not drink milk from a shared cow because everybody has to help in caring and feeding the cow and no one really knows how to wash the udder of a cow if you don't do it many times a day.

That is a shame. Shared cows are the only way to legally drink raw milk in many states.

Raw dairies are much cleaner than dairies which pasteurize milk. The cows are healthy or they are not milked. People do not get sick from drinking raw milk anymore. People get sick from drinking pasteurized milk, though. Lactose intolerance, for instance, is due to the fact that there is no lactase in pasteurized milk, so digesting it is difficult. While you might have a problem in a very small cow-share operation, due to ignorance, larger dairies (where care is not a coop situation) are not a problem at all. So, if the operation were legalized across America, we would all be much healthier. Raw milk tastes better than pasteurized, too. Raw milk does not keep as long as pasteurized milk, but sour milk is healthy, too, and can be used in cooking in place of buttermilk.

lactose intolerance is NOT due to the loss of lactase in pasturized milk. Milk is not supposed to have lactase. Lactase is an enzyme normally present in infant animals whose diet is normally milk. Normally, animals stop drinking milk when they start eating food, and then they stop producing lactase. Humans are the only animals that continue to drink milk after they start eating food, and some humans express the more natural physiology of shutting off their lactase production and become lactose intolerant. Others do not.

Tell that to the people that just got an Ecoli infection from drinking milk from a cow-share clean dairies.
I still believe in states rights and this should not be a federal regulation.

But, but, but, it's the Federal Government's regulatory agencies like the FDA that put these regulations for food processing for our own good, :(

You mean they don't know what is good for us anymore. What about, what about fluoride in the water and, and Mayor Nanny Bloomerg making it illegal to serve salt and the Big Gulp soda or soda's with sugar, isn't that all because they care.

Oh tell me it ain't so.

Is that why I am lactose intolerant? I used to drink milk when I was a kid and it didn't hurt me, all my mom did was boil it because we didn't have a loving caring Federal Government to save the day.

Yes, that's why you are lactose intolerant. If you had your own cow, or a clean raw dairy to buy from, you wouldn't even need to boil it. It's healthier if you don't.

    Bastards! LOL

    I'm sure you are right.

I hope we can start turning things around. I am so sick of all these regulations and regulatory bureaucracy padding the Federal Government payroll with that BS that they do it for the "common good" and people, well some people eat that BS right up. I hope it makes them sick.

We no longer see the mozzarella, the sausages, the hams hanging from the ceilings in the deli's or from the awnings over the out door tables. There are no street food vendors anymore and I don't mean hot dogs and pretzels I mean, BBQ stands, fish, crab and shrimp eateries around beach towns. Damn kids can't even have a lemonade stand in some cases without being harassed by some ass bureaucrat.

And there are people that still defend that asinine nanny big government mentality.

Lucky you! I live in Central Oregon. It is pretty close to impossible to get raw cow's milk here :( On the rare occasions when I get some (when I travel to Utah or California) I drink as much as I can!! LOVE it.

Thanks for the information. I have said for a long time now that the white liquid that is pushed on an unsuspecting public has only a rudimentary connection to actual milk in that it do originate in a cow. Milk is no good for humans past the age of 10 years old. Even then human females should stop earlier then that. To have a cow continue to give milk they are fed a mixture of hormones that convince the cow that they are pregnant or have a calf. These hormones do not go away and that is why 10 year old girls are developing far sooner then their grandparents did. Want to have a real treat, go by a dairy farm and get some raw milk. That is something special and you will get all the nutrients that naturally come from real milk.
