Do you consider people who make $250,000 per year, WEALTHY?

250,000 before taxes is a lot of money. With all the deductions and corporate loop holes a 250,000 income stays pretty healthy. Any notion that most of the 250,000 is eaten up by taxes and cost of living is wrong the 250,000 a year gross folks have it made. The real question is why are so many people with 25,000 a year incomes wanting the wealthier to have a low tax. Let the wealthy come out and defend themselves or are they cowards who get the misguided underinformed poor to do their bidding. Come on rich lets hear from you. Our sons and daughters helped make you money the country collectively helped so why don't you rich say something maybe you are sneeky and greedy and are to busy at the "club"

No, based on the economy and taxes, but I suppose to those making a lot less it might seem that way.

0-15,000= Lower Class

15,000-30,000 = Lower Middle Class

30,000-100,000= Middle Class

100,000-500,000= Upper Middle Class

500,000 + = Wealthy



I've lived in numerous neighborhoods and been around many different people of different affluencies. The people I know who could be making around 250,000 or more than that are not the type of people who always eat at fancy restaurants or live in MANSIONS or have yachts or butlers or any of that. 250,000 is pretty much upper middle class that your respectable lawyer or doctor would take home.

Perhaps not "WEALTHY", but absolutely very well off. Wealthy is kind of a relative term.
However, if you can't live extremely comfortably on 250k/year, then you are extremely financially irresponsible at the very least.

Look at it from a percentage viewpoint.
If you have a little more money you spend more and help the economy.

All things realative. Those who make $250,000 per year net after taxes are usually there because of education, risk or they own their own business. If we assume after taxes, then we have to assume, they are laying it all out there to make the money. Meaning traveling distances, working hours in the 12 to 18 hours per day or very highly skilled work.
NO matter your income it does not matter how much you make , but how much you can save.
Those who make $250,000 usually own their own business and are employing people, unless they are a gov't people, who do not provide a product or a service. Those folks are sucking the life out of America.

Back in the day yes, but with all the Federal Reserve money printing inflation and excessive taxation it is just about a living wage. Can you imagine obumbo and his spoiled rotten family being able to get along with those few paltry dollars?

In most cases making $250,000 as a family is just another stepping stone toward wealth.

$250,000 per year is what a construction worker or welder can make in a good year with a lot of overtime. It's also what B2B sales reps make before taxes, insurance and other deducts that are the responsibility of independent contractors. And if the person lives in a high-tax, high cost of living area such as NYC or Los Angeles, $250,000 per year is solidly lower middle class.

Compared to most people I know and myself, it is wealthy. Compared to millionaires it is not.

Most people making that kind of money are family businesses whose personal and business taxes are one and the same.

I think it is more than enough to live on. But I only see the billionaires as wealthy; that's when you have real power.

I would call them upper middle class, well off but not truly wealthy.

Upper middle class, as long as they're not in say NYC or much of CT. Then middle at best.
