Another question whose phrasing was not thought out very well.
Everyone has an equal right to the same domestic partnership contract by government, whether they are gay, heterosexual, bisexual, polyamorous, or whatever. The nature of their relationship beyond their being domestic partners is theirs to define.
I don't care if they get married...I do believe however that religious organizations should not be forced to perform gay marriages. Civil Unions performed by local govt. should be given the same level of meaning and importance as ANY 'marriage' performed in a religious ceremony and grant the same rights. Individuals should not have the right to sue a religious entity for 'discrimination' if they refuse to perform a same sex marriage, and THAT is what this whole issue is REALLY about.
right....whatever...If that was true then they would be fighting for the same rights under a civil union...but that's not good enough...this is all about somebody being denied the opportunity to be 'married' in a Catholic (or any other) church...and then having the 'right' to sue them for a billion dollars under 'discrimination'...they aren't asking the govt. to reform 'civil unions' because they will not be able to sue the govt. and win $$$...it is about the destruction of the church... and please..the only one playing the 'victim' here is the GLBT community...give me a break.
Not at all. What possible effect could it have on me and it that makes them happy then go for it. It's a free country and they should be free to choose. I heard one wag say that gays have as much right to be miserable as anyone.
I also care about heterosexual people that get married. The only people that don't worry are lawyers that make money coming and going on per-nupuals and divorces.
I honestly don't care if gay people get married or not. What I do care about in that regard is whether or not they get to chose one way or the other, which they should.
I care about their right to get married, but I care about gay couples actually getting married every day no more than straight couples getting married every day.
Marriage is not a gay institution. Marriage is one man, one woman. Also, before gays flood me with their stupid opinions about how they're being discriminated against, and how they think I'm a latent homosexual, I don't care what you think.
And would it be okay if a guy and girl kissed in front of you!? >.>
Too bad... It was really great. Eve found Adam and Steve together and there was this whole Hot thing goin on... :3

The church is just trying to play the victim.
Legalizing gay marriage doesn't force a church to do anything.
Can a heterosexual couple force a church to marry them? No.
Neither can a gay couple.
You are fear mongering, and that tactic will no longer work.
Marriage for all, or marriage for no one.
