How can a Press be "independent" if it's selecting politicians for office?

“Life is not very lifey yet, and I'm on a log with fellow turtles waiting for the day human beings evolve into something worthy to discuss life with”, is how I feel about things now that I’ve advanced to an enlightened state of being.
    So, driverscrew the media.

No, but they do with the amount of air time they allow a Candidate, or choosing what subject to talk about endlessly or what makes their ratings go up to the tabloid minded among us, instead of the issues.

They should do what they are supposed to do - report the news not beat to death the "He said, She said" tabloid reporting. Report on issues!

The media already try to influence people to see it their way. They should keep their personal opinion to them selves, like they do on c-span. They should not be able to contiuously put a candidate down because of a personal dislike they may have. Tell the facts. When you show something positive about one candidate do the same for the other, and let us form our own opinion.

Clearly they think they are entitled to and have taken every opportunity to emphasize points that they are in favor of to the detriment of the candidate, but no...the election is not for the media to decide.

NO I don't ! The media has enough throwing out untruth, lies when it comes to who they want as president. And I think that media has no right to throw out untruth on Hillary.I will not watch msnbc ever! I can give a hoot what's on.Sick of them every chance they get to throw a jab at Hillary .But I can say this,The media will find out just who they are giving all the attention to. The day will come when they complain of.We are in big trouble.you think?

AT times they try to make like they are not bisa.,but you can tell how the body moment and the looks as they try so hard.bull! They don't tell the truth on this presidental race.I can't stand anyone who sits there and talks, talks and talks and don't know what they talking about.Hot air....

The news media is already trying to tell people who they should vote for and I think that they should be just like church pastors. KEEP THEIR NOSE OUT OF IT AND LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE FOR THEM SELF.

HOW can you be running on the pretense that you are the ONE to bring people together but still yet, you choose not to disown a racist bigot "WRIGHT", and not only this but have ties to a known domestic terrorist like Bill Ayers???
blacks are the biggest RACIST, they stand by a bigot racist but jump and holler when someone says nappy headed HO??? what is worse "GOD DAMN AMERICA" or nappy headed HO??? See video below... obama saying "I, I, I, ah, ah, uh, uh, eeh, eeh, wasn't in church" how can you say you heard this kind of crap once or twice and not know for 20 years how RACIST your pastor is??? Having heard it only ONCE should have caused him to move along to another church... SEE VIDEO BELOW!!!

That's a silly question. Can't believe I answered it. WARNING: To those responding to Newsmax polls. I have seen false reporting on many occassions. Newsmax will get your email address and you could fall into being a target for one of the massive smear campaigns regardless of the candidate. Remember they have your poll information and email address. I have noticed as I change my choices the type of news coming in my box differs. Try it yourself see if you get the same thing. I would encourage everyone to find their own facts, do not believe everything you read. Lib/conserv are lables intended to divide. We can easily be liberal and conservative depending on the issue or sentiment. My focus in this presidential race is constitutional protection and finding a president that will ease the recent abuses of presidential power. A more appropriate balance of power in Washington, the markets, unions, and trade needs to be found. Dig deep go to thomas.gov, the library of congress. The media can be taken advantage of and/or blamed. Know the difference between an op-ed piece, a report of facts, and truth twisting. If you have an unanswered question email the media or the candidates themselves or find the candidates own words. My hope is that the upcoming debates will discuss real issues. I'...'

His accomplishments thus far are impressive. The color of skin, gender or even age mean little to me. We are at a defining moment for our next generation. History has revealed each generation it's challenges and here we are in 2008 with ours. To me the Iraq war was stupid and whomever voted for it should not be in office or anywhere near Washington. The war in Iraq and unbalanced trade agreements have brought upon us difficulties which I believe could have been preventable.

...The media is just like the rest of us with individual and sometime relevent opinions, but not for the deciding factor.....I saw where the comedians and talk show host may be banned from being vocal in the future....I have to admit that some is a bit edgy but what isn't in politics...I'll take a good Obama laugh every now and again but I swear the next time I hear he wants a CHANGE,...I will personally send him a box of DIAPERS.......

As the New York Times has shown, the media has its own bias. This is especially true of the Liberal media. If anyone is interested in this topic I would like to reccommend a book by Bernard Goldberg called BIAS. Check it out!
