Do you believe the LIBERAL MEDIA?

I don't automatically believe the liberal media, but I believe them more often than the conservative media. I prefer to get my news from neither of them.

I "believe' it as much as I "believe" the Conservative Media - even though the Conservatives say that such a thing doesn't exist. I only WISH Rush (and the rest) didn't.

Not when it comes to politics. Journalism died in 2008. The Liberal Media seems to only exist to get democrats elected.

Is the Liberal media telling all? If Obama were a Republican, the entire world would know every detail of his life, and the media would be spending countless amounts of money going back however many years they had to to find out whatever kind of dirt there was on Obama.
But Obama is a Democrat and the media won't report the facts. If America only knew the true facts......

I think the media is just as partisan as anyone else. EVERYONE has a bias.

I don't watch the 'liberal' or 'conservative' news channels at all.

I know they have been left leaning for decades, but it has gotten so bad in the past four years that you might as well just have a reporter giving the nightly news from the White House basement. Figures are misrepresented, negative results of Obama's policies or actions are ignored, hatred toward people who question Obama's ability or policies is spewed out daily, and they will not report on anything that does not shine brightly on thier chosen one.

However, they will make every effort to demonize and investigate anyone asking questions, or pointing out blunders against their agenda. The msm have become so blatently in the tank for Obama, that I can not trust any of their reporting anymore. An example of this is the coverage on Romney and his 47 percent statement, while ignoring protesting against our country in over 30 countries, and the deaths of 4 Americans. It sadly shows the mentality of our press and its priorties today.

No I do not, nor do I believe that those TV news announcers necessarily believe themselves. They're more entertainers than news reporters, and as such they have a public image to uphold, which is not necessarily their own personal viewpoint. They're just on TV delivering the company line, trying to earn their paycheck.

Here's the thing: Actual JOURNALISM tends to have a liberal bias because it is the nature of liberalism to INVESTIGATE and QUESTION the status quo. Which makes "liberal journalism" more trustworthy, because they don't simply accept some authority's say-so about what is or isn't true. They wade through all the garbage to find the heart of the issue. And they aren't afraid to say it when the emperor isn't wearing any clothes.

The conservative press lives up to its name by simply accepting the stuff that authorities tell them. They tend not to question things or delve below the surface. Again, by definition, they are less curious, less likely to do research, and, in the end, become mere spokesmen for the established institutions of a society.

When dictators come into power, they get rid of the "liberal" journalists right away, because they don't want anyone questioning what they're doing. The conservatives become their mouthpiece. Give me a good old-fashioned liberal journalist any day because they are often the only wall between the people and tyranny!

Being a Independent Moderate I evaluate everything from my newspaper to television. I know I believe those forms of news more than this inane forum for information.

@Diana: Investigative reporting tends to have a liberal bias because they don't accept the status quo. Please read what I wrote a few minutes ago. It should be just above this.

If we had good reporters,we would know more about the dictator we have in office.We would know about his communists,socialist and terrorist friends.We would also know how he leans towards the Muslims.We would have known all the lies he told before becoming President.God help us all if we have 4 more years of him.

The media has been controlled to some extrent by the rulers over the centuries. They usually have their own axes to grind, which are usually not good for productive citizens. They throw us an occasional bone to keep the workers from rising up against them.

Actually I don't believe either side anymore. The Media was bought and paid for just like our govt was. They tell us what the Plutocrats who control all three entities want them to tell us. The biggest part of their job is not lying to us, although that does happen from time to time. The biggest part of the job is KEEPING REAL AND IMPORTANT NEWS AWAY FROM THE PEOPLE. What you don't know CAN harm you!

Why would I regard anything a progressive has to say as gospel? You're in Obama's camp as well as the MSM, and that indicates to me that you have no credibility as far as I'm concerned, period. You might convince a ten year old that what I said wasn't true, but I've been around long enough to know better.

The news is to report the truth not editorialize it. Leaving items out slants it and the media bias is the cause.

@maquignon: You're right, but looking at it from the wrong side. The first thing that tyrants do is to get rid of investigative journalists, i.e. liberals who question the status quo. They leave in place the conservatives of the press because they tend to not question authority.
