It'll take forty years to undue the damage ignorant Bush did to the economy for the corporations. As soon as the "Foot Dragging Republicans" are voted out, we can get more done for the recovery.

As I am writing my response, America is going the wrong way in a hurry. However, it is my hope that will change in November when thinking voters cast their ballots to get rid of Obama and his red minions in the Congress.

Actually.. we aren't on much of any track right now. If Congress could off their collective rear ends and do something that wasn't symbolic or plainly politically motivated, maybe we'd be moving forward but right now we're sitting stalled out at some point between two cities.. too far to walk to the next one and no one wants to go back to the other....

I can only have hope that we can re-elect Obama and hopefully put in place a more progressive congress that will move us forward.

There is no evidence that we are on the wrong track. It will take a lot of work to correct Bush's mistakes, but it has already begun.

BIG TIME. The rich are getting richer the middle class who pay most of the taxes are being pushed into poverty. Do we think the rich are going to pay their fair share in taxes? NOT!

You're close, but you missed the mark. Consider this...

If you divide the economy into three parts, you have the welfare bums who do nothing but sponge off society with no desire of ever doing anything to lift themselves out of poverty;

Next, you have the uber-wealthy Wall Street bankers and high rollers who bankrolled Obama's campaign and eventually collected hundreds of billions of dollars in bailouts and "stimulus" money;

Now, which third of the economy is left to foot the bill the other two groups are collecting off of? That's right - the middle class.

You can count on those groups collecting to support Obama in the next election blindly. Life has been good for them. As the saying goes, "If you rob Peter to pay Paul, you can always count on Paul's support." It is for this reason I find it incredible that anyone who has to go to work every day to feed his family would even think of voting for Obama and his motley Marxists.

Although there are many contradictions, half truths, exaggerated critisism and too much confusing information, there is a trend toward more sustainability. The "green wave" had great difficulties for starting, and economy is slow to recover, as too many SME's were closed down or bought up before the very crisis. The globalisation was controlled from the beginning on by big companies or corporations and caused more damage than economic growth, while fair trade organisations which would allow the weaker countries to build up their own economy was limited to a few spots. Too much profit orientation would worsen the situation. Salary dumping, exacting work conditions, outsourcing and precarity would demotivate the shrinking numbers of increasingly sickened employees.
More transparency in the governmental and economic strategies would be useful, and that applies to all the world.

During the time he points to, 1999-2002, the executives of Bain donated to Obama for his campaign. No doubt at that time Barack Obama was not at all upset about jobs being outsourced as he got some big, fat checks from the executives

We have been on the generally right track for a while, probably since the beginning. Sometimes that train is slow and ponderous and agonizingly inefficient. Sometimes we hold on to outdated ideology across many decades and end up with a recession. And we can certainly point to any time in history and be outraged at injustices. But in the long haul, when we fix something, it stays fixed more often then half the time, and when we break something, were more likely fix it again.Take the long view, and human society does nothing except get better.

As long as the liberal/progressives are in charge we are most assuredly on the wrong track!

I guess it depends where you want the track to go. If you want socialism and communism we are heading there rapidly. I prefer we go back, and yes I said back because we already have embraced too many socialistic values, to being the republic that our forefathers fought to establish. Remember, "WE THE PEOPLE" NOT EXECUTIVE ORDER AND MARTIAL LAW!!!
