revolt against our federal government. To quote Thomas Jefferson:
"Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government...”
We MIGHT be doing that I'm afraid to say
‘over reacting’; I beg to differ. It is not possible to overreact to any attempt to violate The Constitution. If you disagree with this sentiment there is something sadly lacking in your understanding of the document and respect for the provisions therein. When The Constitution is gone, so is The Republic. Ponder life without The Constitution to protect you.

I would also like to see anyone who wants a gun to have to attend gun safety classes.
I would like to have anyone buying a gun be checked out for felonies, & mental disorders.
Anyone who thinks a group of people 240 years ago were able to foresee how this country would progress and all the technology now available is just as nutty as someone living their live according to a book written 2000 years ago.
I think the Constitution as well as the Bible are guidelines and not to be taken literally
That is a political term. If you go to a Colt, Strum,Ruger, or S&W catalogue you will not find a category ‘assault’ weapon of any kind.
Be very careful when you start defining ‘things’; that is how it started in Australia and ended up including air-guns.
When that ‘group of people’ wrote The Constitution the guns they were referring to were cap and ball or flintlock rifles, the same ones that were issued to the military. They indeed did understand what they were talking about.
The first step to wisdom is calling things by their right names.

The Constitution: NO it is not a guideline. It is the law of the land.
It was intended to be read as written i.e. literally. It makes provisions to be amended if necessary. They covered all the bases. It would serve you well to read the Federalist Papers, the communications between Adams and Jefferson, and the writings of Dr. Larry Arn of Hillsdale College. These would give you an insight to the elegant thought processes that went into the structure of The Constitution and thus the structure of our Republic.
How you interpret your Bible is up to you. It is none of my business.
