Actually he was just no in the proper way. The media, Limbaugh and many others ran through Obamas past like a freight train and focused entirely on his biography instead of his political ambitions and other important areas for being potus.

Fact is he vetted even by the conservative news media looking into Jeremiah Wright's association and other people he was with during his younger years. It was the GOP and their sloppiness in vetting him that should be what you want to ask why.

Until we find a way to elect an anti-statist, it is going to be pretty much the same old same old. There was an anti-statist running in the republican primary, but the statists still control the republican party and the media and pretty much shut him out. Still, he made a lot of noise and a few people were listening. Maybe next time around. The problem with our 2 party system where both are controlled by statists is that when one wins and inevitably digs the hole deeper, the other party comes back in favor, wins, but keeps digging the same hole. The only difference between the 2 parties is how fast the dig and whether they dig more on the left or the right side of the hole.

Perhaps. I think there is a lot more grass roots work to be done. Tea Party is having an impact and it has a lot of overlap with libertarian ideas. Libertarians don't make good politicians mostly because they want to be left alone to pursue their own happiness and succeed or fail on their own merits and don't want to run other people's lives.
