Do you believe that "Crapitalism" is undermining the US economy?

FROM THE GEEZERTALK DICTIONARY
"CRAPITALISM" is defined as importing cheap, shoddy and possibly dangerous or toxic goods (crap) - often produced by coerced convict or child labor - to the detriment of the US manufacturing base which ships hundreds of thousands of jobs in turn overseas each year. To finance the US economy's insatiable apetite for "crap" and to finance the jingoistic global foreign policy of the past eight years, the US government is borrowing from the very countries that are shipping all the "crap" to the United States and to which the United States is shipping its manufacturing jobs.

Capitalism is only good when it's controlled and regulated, because America has some of the most greedy businessmen on the planet, and without regulation, our country would lose it's sovereignty. Foreign trade is way out of hand because of that and free trade agreements that Obama must repeal as soon as possible. There is absolutely no conscionable reason we should be importing 40% of what we use on a daily basis.

Now that you've postured for the audience, indirectly implying how smart you are, is there anything else you'd like to add on your way out? Word to the wise - a true intellectual doesn't have to do jumping jacks and scream "hey, look at me, I'm an intellectual". They just are. LOL

It is the Governments attempts to force socialism on us that has caused the down turn in the economy. The collapse of the housing market was the lynchpin that started this downward spiral. It was the policies of Bill Clinton that forced banks to give loans to low income people, people that ultimately could not make there payment, and set up this mess. It was Bush and McCain that tried to stop this mess back in 2001 and 2004.

You can't do anything about the companies that do that. Companies work on a global scale. If you want companies to stay then you make the business environment more friendly with less government interference. You can't stick a gun to a companies head and make it stay. That's the beauty of capitalism. It will always win out no matter how hard you think you can make socialism work. It will always loose out to capitalism because the economics of socialism will always fail because who in their right mind is going to pay more for an equal product when they can pay less.

Capitalism rewards hard work and achievement. Socialism discourages it. Which economic system do you think is going to be more productive for the masses?

I am a teacher so I am stuck I'm in a socialist pay scale. Capitalism rewards Greed and not hard work. The CEO make millions and the employees get shorted. Company does well CEO gets a bonus the workers get nothing. Company does poorly CEO gets a bonus and the workers get canned.

At least that what happened to my Brother. I don't think we need Socialism in busniess either but I want Companies to compete for my money like the Air travel companies. I don't want the team work the Gas companies use. What can be done? Credit cards need to have Govt interference.

I understand the Idea of free enterprise but you don't let your kids run wild in the house you have RULES!!!

I want companies to be loyal to their country. Do what is best for America and not what is best for their Bonuses.

Same with capitalism... not enough rules or restrictions ... so capitalism burns the house down.
