Olympian Oscar Pistorius has told his bail hearing that he thought his girlfriend was an intruder when he shot and killed her in his luxury home in Pretoria. The South African sports star, known as the Blade Runner, is charged with premeditated murder over the Valentine's Day killing of Reeva Steenkamp.
Prosecutors on Tuesday told the Pretoria magistrates court that Pistorius armed himself, put on his prosthetic legs and walked seven metres before firing four shots through a locked bathroom door. But in an affidavit read to the court by his lawyer, Pistorius said he was deeply in love with Steenkamp and was "absolutely mortified" by her death.

Where were his artificial legs that he put on before shooting? Wouldn't they be beside the bed or at least in the bedroom? So he goes back into the bedroom from the balcony and puts on his legs without noticing whether his girlfriend is in the bed??
He also doesn't call the cops before deciding to shoot 4 bullet holes into the door even though he had the time to put his legs back on?
At least one report says the cops were called twice before over potential domestic violence.
Who knows? None of us were there. The police and the court will have to determine.
How does he not call the cops BEFORE shooting?
How does he fire without inquiring who is in the bathroom first?
Why in the world would he assume there was an intruder without confirming that tiny possibility by confirming whether his girlfriend is in bed or not?
