Washington (CNN) -- Nearly nine years after the September 11 terror attacks, a record number of Americans believe the United States is unlikely ever to capture or kill Osama bin Laden, according to a new national poll.
A CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released Thursday reveals that 36 percent think the country is safer from terrorism than it was before the 2001 attacks.
Nearly two-thirds of Americans, however, are not personally worried about becoming a victim of terrorism. And most said they are prepared to deal with an attack if the worst should happen.
While the federal government has given no indication that it has stopped its pursuit of the man behind the September 11 attacks, 30 percent of Americans now believe it is likely the U.S. government will ever capture or kill bin Laden. Sixty-seven percent believe it is unlikely.
A CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll says 67 percent believe it is unlikely the U.S. ever will capture or kill Osama bin Laden.
I don't know one way or the other and I don't CARE.. He's been rendered irrelevant in EITHER case..
And BTW.. ANYBODY that thinks for a minute that his Death will bring about an end to the Terroists' Jihad Against America is living in a FOOL'S paradise..
I'll tell you THIS though.. ONE way or the other,, Dead or Alive,, There are a LOT of his followers who NOW wish they'd never have listened to him when he said;;
" We must ATTACK America... Americans have NO stomach for a fight"...
There are two completely different reasons why I doubt he will be caught.
1. He seems to be willing to lead a no-tech resistance, which takes him effectively "off the grid" as far as CIA gizmos are concerned. If Osama had an iPhone, he would be in a body bag by now.
2. Some people think we are only pretending to look for him. He was plugged in with the CIA back in the 1970's. Are we SURE he's really off the payroll? Really really sure? Those who support the 9/11 conspiracy theory would say he's a useful part of the machine, doing his job as assigned by... well... somebody.
I doubt it very much. If anything he will die and will give orders it not be let out so, the US will waste time looking for him. Well that is what I would do if I was him.
Saddam Hussein was found....".so"....were are the WMD's that we went to war over?
I am not satisfy with Saddam Hussein, considering that is NOT why we invaded that country to begin with!!!!
Remember Mushroom Cloud, which btw we gave him (Saddam Hussein) the technology back in the early 1980's for intelligence on Iran. Remember Iran, and the Irainian Hostage crises and the war that Saddam was waging against Iran.....yeeah!!!
Rummy sold Hussein several $Billion of weapons, most of which were destroyed
in Desert Storm, and the small arms and ammo are still being used every day.
The 105 mm and larger and the bombs provide the explosives with which to
make roadside bombs. When these are used up, I'm pretty sure that some of
the "contractors" employed there will sell some more. Wherever there is a tyrant or military, U.S. manufacturers will find a way to sell their products. "If we didn't, someone else would" is the story I've heard several times. The enemy is within.
If. he is caught Obama will probably hire a lawyer for him out of our tax money. There are plenty of like minded devils to replaace him so it solves nothing to catch hi anyway.
No, Bin will never be caught, we never really chased him, to me there's something fishy about that, because with all the technology we have, we could find anybody we want anywhere in the world, but we can't catch Bin, hmmmm, doesn't make sense to me.
My friend you say it well. There is no difference, between Mexico and Columbia .We need our troops to protecting our Borders not Afghanistan .We want our troops home.
Yes he will be caught, and yes he will go free. That kind of thing happens only in America. not only that we will be giving them money to rebuild their country. isn't that what our politicians will do? Hey just be level. loook at the prisoners that were detained at Cuba..They walked away. first we need to put this Geneva convention crap and burn it.. next pull away fron the United nations. then we can go back to being American's, not playing Cops in other country's and getting shot at. we can't even fight a war like war should be fought...
He died at Tora Bora in the intial phase of the war, which was unfortunate for the Muslims, being he is "Under the Protection of Allah" it would make their God seem impotent, so they keep him "alive" as a hero outwitting the Americans technological power. It was also unfortunate for the power that be here in their Great Game being played out in Afghanistan because they want him to remain a lurking boogy man that we must fear, thus legitimizing our presence for years to come. I mean we can hardly be expected to extract $3 trillion in mineral resources and build the pipeline from Khazakstan in a few months now can we.

What's the next excuse as to why we invaded Iraq?
Still waiting on the WMD's!!!
