Liberal talk radio host Bill Press has a bone to pick...with the Star Spangled Banner. Press said recently on his radio show that his main goal is to get rid of it. At first, Press tries to play off his issue with the National Anthem as being because the song is difficult to sing, but quickly expresses his true feelings about the song:
"It's an abomination."
"Are we the only ones who are brave on the planet? I mean all the brave people live here. I mean it’s just stupid I think."
"I’m embarrassed, I’m embarrassed every time I hear it."
Obama is ahead in polls of EVERY demographic except heterosexual white males.
Republicans have opposed Obama policies that THEY originally proposed.
In spite of the party of no however here are a few things that he has accomplished:::::
1) Obama has overhauled the food safety system
2) Advanced women's rights in the work place
3) Ended Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT) in our military
4) Stopped defending DOMA in court.
5) Passed the Hate Crimes bill.
6) Appointed two pro-choice women to the Supreme Court.
7) Expanded access to medical care and provided subsidies for people who can't afford
it.
8) Expanded the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
9) Fixed the preexisting conditions travesty [and rescissions] in health insurance.
10) Invested in clean energy.
11) Overhauled the credit card industry, making it much more consumer-friendly.
12) While Dodd-Frank bill was weak in many respects, it was still an extremely worthwhile
start at re-regulating the financial sector.
13) He created a Elizabeth Warren's dream agency: The Consumer Financial Protection
Bureau.
14) He's done a lot for veterans
15) He got help for people whose health was injured during the clean-up after the 9/11

None of these things were priorities for Republicans. They actively opposed, directly or indirectly through obstruction, every single item on this list. In fact, they succeeded in killing a Cap & Trade bill in the Senate after it had passed through the House.
All of these things are improvements that would not have occurred under a McCain-Palin administration. Moreover, a McCain-Palin administration would have moved in the other direction on most of these issues, or come up with even worse compromises.
The *real* divide and conquer strategy is the belief that Romney will be significantly different. This sort of game has been going on for most of the country's history.
Obama is all about divide. He hasn't united the country at all.
This is the sort of attitude that keeps us angry enough that, sooner or later, we *will* take over the republican party. At the worst, all we have to do is live longer than the old statists who've turned it into their private little exclusive club.
Quite frankly I'm tired of hearing people blaming Obama. This country has always allowed itself to be divided. Tell me how it is any different from the conception of this country beginnings and after?

If you're against Socialism; the Bush bailouts and Obama stimulus package should be given back to the people it was taken from. The Homestead Act; all the land that was taken from minorities should be given back if you are so against Big government entitlement programs.
