Do You Believe In Prayers?

I did a Post to ask for prayers from SH friends for the disasters in our
Country. I was especially thinking of the Wildfires in Colorado that
were completely out of control, the floods, & the extreme heat in the
East.
I am glad to report that the Waldo Canyon fire near Colorado Springs
is fully contained. I believe that all our fires are under control now
because of the cold front that moved in over the weekend & the
rain we got in the fire areas.
The East has a brief relief from the extreme heat and I haven't
heard of any more rain in the flooded areas. Of course there is
a lot of damage to recover from but it seems that once again
Americans are working together.
Regardless of your Religion or Beliefs, I hope that you really do
believe in the power of prayer. I believe that all prayers are
answered but sometimes not the way we really would like them
to be answered. For example, the Wildfires are still burning
but they are contained. Also we now have temperatures below
normal for this time of the year. This will help the firefighters
a lot.
I would like to thank all the SH friends who prayed for America
in this time of disasters.

I usually thank the Gods and Goddess for the day, nature, and my life. I'll usually make promises of staying good, try my best to be tolerant.

I pray always. I prayer at work today when I was struck witha horrid migraine. I didn't pray for it to go away or to be allowed to go home. I just prayed as a way to relax and remember how to not focus on the pain but on something else. the headache went away withteh help of medication I had and with prayer I remained calm and didn't make it worse.
"The problem with studying religion scientifically is that you do violence to the phenomenon by reducing it to basic elements that can be quantified, and that makes for bad science and bad religion," said Dr. Richard Sloan, a professor of behavioral medicine at Columbia and author of a forthcoming book, "Blind Faith: The Unholy Alliance of Religion and Medicine."
Yes I believe in the power of prayer!
