They made the same claim about Clinton but the very rich got hit the most. Suspect the same will happen again under Obama.

Yes hard to argue that the republicans inherited a country with a federal balanced budget and then promptly unbalanced it. They spent like drunken sailors and allowed Bin to go free. Yes you phony conservatives have lots to be proud of.

You obviously do not have the facts. If you did, you wouldn't post falsehoods and sound so ignorant. Look to the Dems in Congress... you might not be as proud of being a Lib as you profess.

Are you denying that the federal budget was balanced during the last few years of Clinton? Sure was balanced compared to what GW gave us. You don't think republicans spent like hell under GW? Do I have to post some numbers? You republicans showed yourselves for the hypocrites you are.

Hay at least we were able to get Bin laden while your hero, couldn't be bothered only 6 months after making the statement that he would get him dead or alive. Did you actually believe him when he made this statement? I suspected it was just talk but I sure didn't expect him giving up so quickly.

We also didn't ignore daily briefing memos which resulted in the attack of 9/11. Yet you idiots try to pass yourselves off as the party of national security. What a joke. With idiots like republicans defending us it is just lucky we are still free.

Sad to say it is you that sounds ignorant. Not surprising coming from texas. By the way how many people did you kill today after railroading them to the execution chamber?

No, Bill Clinton Didn't Balance the Budget
    http://www.cato.org/publicati...

But I will say that spending was out of sight under Bush, both because of Bush and the Dems in Congress. So you can talk about hypocrites, but look to yourself when you say that.

And the only reason we were able to get bin laden was because of Bush's policies. Oh yeah... if Republicans were so bad at national security, why did Obama keep all of those policies in place? So again, you can talk about hypocrites, but look to yourself when you say that.

Lastly... you must be pretty desperate to start slinging slurs based upon states we live in. I don't live in Texas any longer, though I'll say they are some of the best people in these United states. As far as railroading people to the execution chamber..... at least they've gone through due process, unlike the execution by drones of both terrorists and civilians.

You are free to believe propaganda from a right wing source but I believe in what happened. Bill Clinton passed the largest tax increase in this country's history which republicans predicted would result in an economic collapse second to none. In actuality it allowed interest rates to fall and the country enjoyed growth until Clinton left office. Then when the next republican gave tax cuts to the rich during time of war and slept on the job allowing for 9/11, everything went to hell in a hand basket. All the traditional principles of republicanism went out the window with GW.

I am sure Texas has some decent people but they have had some real winners too. I am against the use of drones and the wars in general. I have blasted Obama for not just ending the wars as killing people will not make the country friends. As for the death penalty, due process or a kangaroo court?

Of course, the government is running out of other peoples money to spent. They will have to replace it in order to continue to spend. There are no other options open to the democrats, they need your money and they need it now. Unfortunatly it will not be used to pay down the debt, it will be used to spend more.

If the clowns representing the GOP see this as the biggest tax hike in history then it stands to reason that since this is nothing more than a sun setting of the Bush tax cuts, that those very same tax cuts were the largest in history, right? Time to pay your fair share people. you've gotten away with destroying the country long enough!

I don't consider it a tax hike at all. It was simply a temporary "holiday" for as long as Bush was in office. Well the holiday is over now, and the intended purpose was ignored by the wealthy, that being the misguided belief that the money saved would be invested in entities that might produce jobs. Instead they sent the money off shore or bought luxury items. The Bush tax breaks had about as much impact on the economy as cash for clunkers.

There are more poor and middle class people here that own homes than there are rich people that own homes. What gives?

Those numbers are accurate, they do change some when the latest fiscal year's numbers are released, but they remain very much the same until control of the presidency or Congress is ceded to the other party. You can easily look them up yourself, instead of me posting links. Here are some more...

In America today (all following numbers are from 2010), the top 5% of earners pay 59% of federal income taxes while earning 35% of the income.

49.5% of non-dependent Americans pay no federal income tax. That is dangerous to have half of the population effectively not paying for national defense, infrastructure, or other federal government things we all benefit from.

However, federal income taxes produce just shy of 42% of the federal revenue, whereas federal payroll taxes (that fund things like Social Security and Medicare), despite the recent cut in them, account for 40% of federal revenue. Interestingly enough, after earning $110,100 there are not payroll taxes on anything after that. Most people pay federal payroll taxes, as it is a forced savings program. By the way, the forces that drive us toward the threat us with a European-style debt crisis are the programs tuned by federal payroll taxes.

"Class warfare" is an effective tool that has been used politically for years. The threat of old people eating dog food, or children going hungry because of some cut to a federal budget is one of the oldest tricks of the left that it is classic. The Koch brothers are child's play when you compared to someone like George Soros, and that does not take into account all of the other big money that is part of the very well funded radical left in this country. The Koch brothers are not even drop in that bucket.

Dubya and Cheney have nothing to do with the breakdown of who pays taxes, those numbers are exactly what they are. Those numbers can be used to argue taxes either way, "more taxes on the rich", or "we need a tax cut across the board." The numbers are not the product of a biased political ideology, and neither is the breakdown. How that breakdown is viewed and therefore presented certainly can be.

Look up who pays taxes, and then make your own case.
