Do you believe America can stop illegal immigration?

Until the citizens of Mexico have as much opportunity there as here we are going to have an immigration problem.

You are right....and you know that will never happen!

I must admit, if I was a citizen of a poor country like Mexico and all I had to do to have at least a chance for a better life for myself and my family was to sneak across the border and try to get established I would probably do it.The fact that such an act would be illegal in the other country would be of minor importance with my family's future at stake. It's human nature to want to improve your lot.

Having said that, I get irritated when I hear about an automobile wreck where the driver is an illegal immigrant with no license and no insurance. It irritates me to walk into a business and half or more of the help can't speak English well enough to assist me. It irritates me when I'm driving down the street and the info sign at a local high school is in Spanish.

I understand the dilemma these illegal immigrants face and in their shoes I would probably do the same but I don't have to like it.

I don't understand why more people are not up in arms about this. It really is Slavery. We brought the Slaves here to do the menial work and now we are doing the same with the Illegals. As they say, history repeats itself. We really should know better by now.

I don't think they are all slaves. We have a number of immigrants here and some make more money than I do. Brand new trucks and ect.

They are called drug dealers lol!

I agree! I hate that all the retail stores changed their signs to English AND Spanish! What does that say for us Americans. Do they do that for us when we go to Mexico....noway..they don't want us to know what we are doing when we are on their turf.
If you are going to live in America then there is no excuse not to learn the language!
If I had to move to a foriegn country that is one of the first things I'd do...learn to speak the language!

If you try to enter Mexico illegally, you go directly to jail. No mercy, yet their president feels we are being mean and should allow them to come here at their free will. That is what is know as unmitigated gall.

There are very few Americans that would try to enter Mexico illegally, he ones that do are criminals and they don't want them there. They want the rich Americans that arn't trying to escape jail time over there to spend our big American bucks on there goods and services to provide for their families.
There are two sides to the coin here,

All you can do is wait and see if anything changes......I'm just looking at the reality of it, I don't think it's right in anyway.

It seems everyone only wants to talk about the hispanic part of immigration. Eventhough hispanics may be the larget number of illegal imigrants ,no one ever wants to talk about the Asians that slip through on shipping containers. We also have illegal Russians. It bothers me because it seems like people have so much hatred for hispanics.

Well I do think about, and I agree! As you can tell I didnt use any certain word or nationality when asking this question because I know from personal experience all the different people that are illegals, Russians are far worse because they love to steal cars and ship them back to Russia!

I believe America can do anything it sets it mind to. Illegal is exactly what it is.....ILLEGAL, against the law and that includes the use of "anchor" babies to justify the Illegal action.
