That is a very generalized statement, I see you have put a lot of thought behind it.......idiot! That is like saying that every one who has a cowboy hat and horse in the picture are going to Hell.

First off I am a Believer in Jesus Christ. So I took a hard look at this for me alone. This is not a yes / no question. It is akin to asking to believe more in electricty or internal combustion? God has the power to create; as he did the whole unviverse. Money drives the day to day lives of everybody; whether you have it or not. I never have expected God to provide my next meal. He expects me to earn that. My money can't buy me salvation. I can't earn that but God can provide it. Breakfast tomorrow? Money power. Slavation forever? God power.

    Here's some food for thought:
According to most hypochristians and "the bible", the "bible" is the inspired free word of god. So, why do they publish millions of bibles every year and SELL them? And why so many different versions? And why would you have to pay someone to interpret in their own words what you can read at home? Hell yes I believe the church to be full of crap and the worst worshippers of the almighty dollar. How else would they still be in existence?

It's very obvious. I keep looking for a good church to attend and every time I try one out, the entire service is based on 'give money to the church'. Once minister had the nerve to say tithe to the church and worry about your 'bills' later. I went to a new church during the 9/11 tragedy, and the church was building a new building and the minister couldn't even lay off the 'give money' sermon long enough to acknowledge what so many were feeling during that tragedy.

I had a neighbor who was a member of a particular church for 10 years or so. They were building an addition to their church as well, and he had pledged $ to the building fund. Between the time he made the pledge and the time the building project began, he lost his job. The 'church' sued him for his pledge when he was unable to keep his committment.

I have found that there are more people who do the most evil things in society that claim to be Christians than not. Anybody who starts out with me with "I am a Christian" upon introduction, I run in the other direction. It is not that I do not believe in Christianity, I think the concept is being abused by many evil people who try and hide behind it. An example is one notorious person that has been in the new recently, the BTK killer.

True Christians certainly don't. Unfortunately many professed Christians are lying about their being in line with God because it can be profitable if you are conniving enough. Look at the many, many television Evangelist who set there most of there show and beg you to send them money. I don’t watch them and I wouldn’t. I’m not saying all television Pastors are phony, but most are. One of the very worst is this Benny Hann or however you spell his name. He is a phony if there ever was one. He might not even have started out that way, but it's the way he is now. I can truly scan through the channels and God's Holy Spirit will convey to me what not to watch.

Maybe we should keep "In God We Trust" on the money just to remind people about God when they start putting their trust in money.

After 9/11 ..the churches were full.....when there is a tragedy the news even say "We are praying for the victims..rarely do we hear any mention of God in everyday news or conversation..until there are terrible things happening....people in general in America do worship the almighty dollar until there families are threatened with harm..then their money means nothing..which it really does mean nothing all the time..but not to them until tragedy hits.

..but I’m not discounting the Power of God. I am merely answering the poll question!
You mention 9 /11. What YEAR was that? Six years ago. Where are all of those people today?
The Evening News (let’s really not go there) isn’t a true representation of our culture. You said it yourself and I quote “rarely do we hear any mention of God in everyday news or conversation..until there are terrible things happening....people in general in America do worship the almighty dollar until there families are threatened with harm”…
I’m not saying that God isn’t as important as money. I am answering the question as truthfully as I know how!

They would find such peace of mind if they kept the face of God in focus in all their thoughts and deeds. God and all the Angels and Arkangels, Saints watch over those who heed Gods words. Just look at the lives of people who did not follow him and their ultimate fate her on earth. Money is the root of all evil, if it becomes your god.

Christian Americans are more secular today than before, and many faithful Christians believe in the power of money. In America today, money goes a long way and God has taken a hands off approach (thankfully, or we would have another flood on our hands). So maybe the power of money does more in America.

That doesn't mean that God isn't powerful, just that you can get more accomplished with money.

Except eternal salvation through the mercy of our Lord Jesus the Christ, the Prince of Peace, through Him all things are possible. A God so powerful to speak the Universe into being is much more powerful than money it can only buy things that will rust and decay as we all will but God can give you enternal life. I once read about a priest who said that he thought hell was God just giving you what you want, a selfish life is what you want that is the way you will spend eternity twisting and turning with your self outside the presence of the Holy Creator and his followers alone with what you always wanted yourself. Eternity is a long time to be alone, most prisoners go insane after 30 days, think about it. Wisdom begins with the fear of God.

The reason being is because if you don't give enough to the church they will ask you to find another church. If these so-called clergy believe so much then how come they live in GATED COMMUNITIES with armed guards? Will GOD not protect them? If not maybe they're doing something wrong. Or maybe their belief doesn't run all that deep. But I bet they've got their ROLEX on. So much for GREED.

Where DID you go to church? The 10% rule applies to most churches, but it depends on what God lays on your heart to give. I believe that not all my 10% has go to the church, but to honor God in other ways, i.e., helping someone to buy food, pay there utility bills, etc. Some people can afford to give 10% to their church and go above and beyond with other assistance.

If that is what your church is doing I suggest you go to a real Christian Church. Churches have to have means to sustain their facilities and support missions. Even Abraham gave 10% of all the spoils from Sodom to the High Priest of God. Are you any better than Abraham.

Not all churches are this way cowboy..there are very few as a matter of fact..just the few that are have gotten the publicity...I think our pastors should have nice things within reason..they shouldn't be living higher than their congregations...

Do you know who started that 10% crap? THE CHURCH. Not anybody else. The preachers needed to find a way to make a living, and play with the women.

You are not very well informed cowboy, the first time a 10% came into play was when Abraham was returning from sacking Sodom and rescueing his nephew. He gave 10% of the booty to Melcuzedeck the High Priest of God, and King of Salem (king of Peace). Do you think you should do less?

As a person with a pastoral degree, I can say with certainty that
Americans miss out on the power of God. They give it to luck. We here
in America think that money can solve all the problems of life, but we
miss out on the blessings from God. There are people in Africa who will
travel 3 days or more just to get to a revival for healing, teaching,
salvation, or any of the other miriad of gifts God has to give us.

That is very evident in this society. Look at commercials on TV, Look at our education system, political system and all of it's affiliated groups that support it. In this country which I love; "it's all about the $$$$" nothing less...nothing more. Everyone is grabbing for more $$$$.
