Do you agree with this school's teen pregnancy policy?

I disagree for several reasons, one of them being that this is a surefire way of increasing the number of abortions.

It's bad enough that we allow any baby-killing at all. Implementing policies that will only result on more baby-killing is all the more evil.

I agree! There are too many teens around the world that go have sex without thinking of the consequences, and then end up getting pregnant. Sure, most take the easy way out and just get an abortion, which yes has emotional tolls, but some decide to keep the baby. Therefore they have to drop out of school, and it ruins their lives because of a stupid mistake they made. Having this policy sure does try to put teens in their place.

This sounds like a public school, and if it is, this policy has got to go.

It puts pressure on the girls, and as mentioned here, might even increase the rate of abortions.

I would agree with a policy that if it turns out a girl is pregnant, she should be moved to an alternative school, but my support for this hypothetical policy would be rather lukewarm.

Newsflash: if a girl has the support of her family, there is nothing wrong with her getting pregnant.

If I was a student there, I would protest by doing the test myself also (I'm a guy). I might even fake a positive result, heh heh heh.

I'm a big advocate of sex education in schools - because awareness is important - but this is absurd.

Government run liberal schools are trying to take control away from parents and act as if they are the legal guardians of our kids. They need a good slap down from the parents.

I totally agree except for one thing. I think Kahlil Gibran is not as bad as you think. When he says, your children are not your own, I think what he is saying is that we as parents do not actually own them. I think the NEA presumes that it actually owns our kids and uses nice poetry to make them look good.

That's small-minded. I don't even know where to begin. The biggest is they would rather have a larger drop out rate? They would rather turn an uneducated child to the street. What about the father?

If their policy was to ensure the health of the teen or the unborn child, it would be one thing, but to kick out the girls? Do they do a DNA test and kick out the father of the child, if he attends there, too?

Denying girls education for being pregnant is ridiculous and I'm pretty sure it's also illegal. If anything, it will encourage girls who discover they're pregnant to, before the school suspects it, have abortions-- which often causes mental stress and occasionally physically harms them-- when they would not have otherwise.

Near where I live one of the school districts had a policy of throwing out anyone who got knocked up. Another one started a charter school for pregnant girls and mothers.

throw out the males who impregnate the females and the females as well. NO second chances. NO financial help from tax payers. I have absolutely no objection to PRIVATE groups which do not use any form of government/tax dollar supported helping such young people.

So even if they are not needing help from tax payer they should still get thrown out?

to me it seems fairly certain this is yet another power grab by unions ( which most often support their own male driven liberal ( fake agendas ) objectives or power grabs ) Source: factual history of ALL mankind since we all began keeping records of all this .

I agree with you with this proviso , this is always going to be the implementation of "rights" ( delineation) between right from wrong, good from evil sort of thing which keeps mankind always in turmoil t, and thus learning proper balance throughout our aeons long history.

AND anyway< i am a true feminist, and shall never believe males should rule all humaniy by ANY form of law they alone are allowed to create and spread simply by rule of might over weak.

ALL humans ARE equally created, never one above or below another.
