Ironically, cliches are cliche because they are easy to throw out when you can't confront an overwhelming reality. The purpose of work is so that a task becomes easy. Replace the word easy with underwhelming, boring, unnecessary. Then I agree. Don't over-complicate things. It'll just make you miserable. Trying to make 2 + 2 = 5 isn't easy is it....

Being a Christian, I know the tougher it is, the more worth it. The road to hell is wide and easy, the road to Heaven is narrow, and full of barbs.

Much the same as the paths described in Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken"

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
    Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

If something is worth while, it probably won't be easy... besides, if something is hard to attain, you always feel like you've accomplished far more than if it had been easy.

While many things worth doing are difficult, especially today it is difficult to stick to your values and principles, many worthwhile things are easy.

People say that you have to work at marriage but I believe if you marry the right person and are respectful it is very easy. It's easy to love your family. It's easy to do unto others as you would have them do unto you if you think about it first.

I guess maybe I'm lucky but I find life pretty easy.

If everything you do is difficult and your life is just a constant struggle, I think you're doing something wrong. You must be very tired.

I don't know if I agree that nothing is worth "doing", but I think that nothing worth achieving is worth it if it's easy.

    Maybe yes... maybe no.

What is worth doing may take little effort - especially if you do it as matter of fact as you live.

The things that are difficult and costly in time or talent - may provide more satisfaction but a life well lived is a continuous endeavor that gets easier, in my opinion, for the little stuff and takes more effort for the large.

"Easy" or "Hard" - for me, if it is something worth doing it just doesn't matter. . . .I'm too stubborn to take the chicken poop way out!! However, sometimes doing the "Right" Thing" leave comment worth stubborn chicken poop is very, very difficult.

I totally agree with that statement because if it were easy, I don't think many of us would do it. I think we all strive to be the best and being the best isn't easy.

Nothing in life seems easy-haha. But anything worth doing or having is bound to be difficult. It's usually a steep climb and trek to get there. And some stuff just plain ain't worth doing. I get a kick out of the folks that never seem to struggle. (or maybe they just hide it well, idk.) These sort seem to have the ability to step in s**t and then scrape gold off their shoe! lol. And their feet seem to have wings where they breeze and fly through it all. I guess to them everything is worth doing. haha.

there's plenty in life worth doing:

bike in the country, helping a friend, petting a dog, kissing a girl, saving a turtle from the highway, picking up some litter, giving a hug, helping build a house (hfh), giving a lift, buying lunch for a stranger in need, taking a shower, helping a cutie with her math, ...
