I think Paul basically is saying that each airport should employ its own security. With that I agree.

There are airports where private security is used and it is quicker, more courteous and better trained than the government fiasco we pay for.

Government should divest itself of all Business except that which is supported by the constitution.

If a business cannot suceed on its own, we the taxpayers should not be held accountable for their bad management or inability to do business and profit. Has nobody been paying attention the the cost of Trying to rush Solar Energy into the market.

Or bailing out GM then ending us pit the government owning 26% of their stocks and losing money all the time.

ACtually it is the Israli ARmy that handles that duty. For 2-3 international airports. Here we have in the range of 1500 international airports. Big difference.

Guess you never flew to Israel aboard their airlines from the USA. You go through TSA Checkpoints, and see no Israli security at all. It would be against the law for them to have any aremed secutity on US Soil.

Try it - you'll like it.

Actually, flew from OHare to Israel on El Al - but it was several years ago. No, they were not armed, but their security was top notch. I should know - my friend and me were the last to get on the plane since security was questioning us, actually held the plane for us. One agent had me, another talked with her, and then the 2 agents talked with a 3rd..........we are talking Israeli security - these folks took their job seriously.

What terrorists has the TSA caught? It's usually the passengers, the FBI or the CIA that does the work. The TSA just sits around watching porn and stealing fingernail clippers.

Their mere presense is a deterrant. Sorta like if you see a person carrying a gun on their hip you probably wont attack them with a knife.

Probably too simple a concept for most.

The TSA doesn't really do a lot to secure airports from terrorists-- those who want to bypass the security checkpoints can, by using doors that security has left unlocked so that airport employees can go out and smoke on their breaks.

Every week at the USO escorting Military Families going overseas in smoothly getting through Security, and onto their aircraft. So yes I do have a clue as to how TSA is a deterrant. And especially the Security my wife and I have to go through while assisting them.

And lets compare the TSA to lets say Seatbelts. Can you find a listing of how many people seat belts have been able to deter from death or injury?

Neither can be measured.

They are not even interested in Airports anymore. Because of the detterant factor of the TSA presense. For now!!!! Like anywhere else, the cops at an airport are there to cleanup, not prevent.
