Then you support the corruption of the governments across the world. Go ahead and try to say you don't. It won't matter because you do. He's trying to let people know the truth, and they're using the rape accusations—which are false; the women bragged about having sex with him the following day. The one woman only wanted him to get tested after he didn't wear a condom. The police took that as a rape accusation—to try to send him to the US. The government is just mad that they're being exposed for the evil they do behind closed doors.

Thank goodness there is at least one country that is not giving in to US bullying. The US government can't stand for the truth to come out and embarrass it, so it would undoubtedly do the same thing to Julian Assange that it did to Bradley Manning, lock him away and torture him without even a pretense of a trial.

This guy is an absolute hero to mankind, exposing corruption all over the world.

What he's needs to do is seal himself in a crate and ship himself out of the country. It is ILLEGAL for anyone to tamper with the mail.

The real heroes are informed legal voters who dump ineffective politicians because they are not taken in by rhetoric and lies which are many continue to rehash. Secondly, IT IS ILLEGAL TO TAMPER WITH THE MAIL IN THE UNITED STATES! First Ammendment of the Bill of Rights! Most countries have few safeguards in this area. What was in Assange's wholesale release of documents? Many embarrassments, but also Death Warrants for hundreds once they are in the hands of those who would act on them. SOME HAVE ALREADY! Those mentioned don't have the protections you have provided them. Oh yes, you provided nothing for those people except support for their token court sanctioned execution.

Truth get convoluted with political activities which causes us to be repulsed by our politicians. Many of those documents that Assange was likely looking for a deal on, have a serious attachments to human lives who will be endangered by this callous release. The United States has done far more good in the world than evil, but we cannot salute renegades like Assange to determine which is which on his own whim. If you had these documents, would you at least go after the names of officials on the list rather that a wholesale flood of support for those who have for mostly religious reasons have declared the United States their mortal enemy?

    Sufficient suspicion exists for prosecution.

I believe the women, not the scum bag Bill Maher look alike fugitive.

    I have read the details.

Funny how liberals pretend to be upset about comments of rape and defend actual rapists.

I hope no woman in your family ever is exposed to Assange.

This is what I’ve read: two women …A & W.

Woman A agrees to sex but insists on a condom. The condom breaks. She believes Assange intentionally did something to break it, though she doesn’t describe what that something might have been or why he might have done it. According to him, he was unaware of the break, if there was one. Woman A admits to having consensual sexual relations with Assange. She didn’t make a complaint until six days after the ‘incident’. During those six days, Assange stayed in her flat and slept in her bed; she even held a party for him after the incident. During this time, Woman A spoke with high regard about him to her friends …that is, until she discovered he had spent the night with Woman W.

Now, let’s move on to Woman W. She contacted Assange, and by her own account willingly engaged in sexual activity in a cinema. She voluntarily took him to her flat where she stated they had consensual sex. She also indicated in a text message that she never suggested she had been raped; she only claimed that she had been “half asleep” and that she “thinks he may have ejaculated without using a condom.” She also waited several days before filing a report.

She voluntarily took him to her flat where she stated they had consensual sex. She also indicated in a text message that she never suggested she had been raped; she only claimed that she had been “half asleep” and that she “thinks he may have ejaculated without using a condom.” She also waited several days before filing a report.

There are also reports that the women sent text messages to each other indicating a desire to sell their stories to a tabloid newspaper.

And let’s not forget the original arrest warrant was withdrawn in August 2010, with one of Stockholm’s chief prosecutors, Eva Finne (a woman), having said, "I don't think there is reason to suspect that he has committed rape."

I don’t claim to know what happened (unlike you), but what I’ve read seems a bit dodgy. I’d like to see justice served, but I’d like the rights of all parties to be considered and protected, including Assange’s …no apologies for that, I’m afraid. An accusation does not make one guilty.

As I’ve mentioned, Assange is wanted for *questioning* and he should be questioned. Swedish officials were invited to do so in London. Ecuador has also offered its embassy for that purpose. Sweden refused both offers without explanation, though they have travelled to question individuals in other cases.

If Assnage raped a woman, he should be held fully accountable for that, but you’d have to be a naive fool to think there isn’t more to this than the rape questioning. The truth is, Assange is ultimately facing extradition to the US for his Wikileaks activities, and he’s fully aware of that fact. He’s got every reason to be concerned for his safety and wellbeing. The US is no longer a principled nation; that’s no secret to the rest of the world. In 2001, the Swedish government delivered two Egyptians seeking asylum to the CIA, which then handed them over to the Mubarak regime, which then tortured them. Assange has agreed to return to Sweden if he is given assurance that he will not be extradited to the US. At this point, Sweden has refused that request. Do you see why there might be some hesitancy on his part? There is absolutely no question what is going on here.

I wish this were as cut and dry as you’ve tried to paint it, but it’s not. The rape case against Assange must be resolved, but that’s a separate issue from it being used as justification to hand him over to the US. And make no mistake about it; that IS what this is about. If it weren’t, Sweden would have proceeded with questioning Assange in London …Ockham's razor, if you will.

Look, don’t take this too harshly; after all, this is only my opinion backed by facts. You’ve got no justification at all to suggest that I support rapists or rape, that’s absolute rubbish. But, certainly, you CAN hate me because I’m a liberal …that IS fact, and I won’t apologise for that either.

    This from the Guardian:

    Julian Assange

"I am here today because I cannot be there with you today," he says in a speech which is directed as much to the assembled crowds of supporters below as anyone else.

"But thank you for your resolve, for your generosity of spirit."

"On Wednesday night after a threat was made on this embassy and police descended on this embassy, you came out to watch over it."

Assange said that he could hear police "storming" up through the internal fire escapes of the embassy

He adds: "If the UK did not throw away the terms of the Vienna convention it was because the world was watching and the world was watching because you were watching."

    Edit:
And there you have it. These governments operate in secrecy ...all of them. We must support the men and women with the courage to open our eyes to what they are doing. In these days of absolute acceptance by Americans of the Patriot Act and the NDAA (but please don't take our guns), they are essential to our liberty.

Have to disagree with you on this one, I believe there is too much National secrecy, but the other side of the coin is anarchy, some things are better off out of the public knowledge, and a government should be able to protect itself from hacking, and that is with laws and punishment that make it very inconvenient to do so. He was speaking very inconveniently from the window of an embassy, if that is how life is for him from now on, I do not mind.

Assange has got some balls, I give him that.
He unmasked some of the worlds biggest political leaders real thoughts about humanity, and it wasn't good. What we the people thought our political leaders were is not the case. Now we know they lie to us on a regular basis to get us to understand the world they want us to understand, and not the real world that is.
When someone is caught in a lie they get pissed at the one who foiled their fraud, and Julian Assange has some powerful political enemies right now, ones that want him dead.
Wistleblowers the world over cringe at the thought of telling the truth as we watch our own government salivating over the thought of a dead Assange. Wondering if they should just keep their mouth shut and let the corruption continue.
It's really to bad when letting people know the truth about their leaders becomes wrong, and letting the corruption continue as the norm.

The rape charges are exposed for being the garbage they are. Yes, I think it was a ploy to allow extradition.

Now, on to the real truth. People are trying to treat this guy like he's Robin Hood, or some kind of hero. What is he really? He is a saboteur, a cyber terrorist and a fugitive from justice. He, and his cohorts, committed crimes against the country, not unlike any other cyber terrorist or criminal, and released the contents to the world. Thank you. I just felt that someone has to say it. When did common criminals, with no motivation, other than to instigate and support chaos and their own greed, become hero's? I can think of tens of thousands of reasons, to use the word "hero", and Julian Assange is not among them. My hero's do not allow or condone the placing of Americans (or anyone else for that matter) in harms way. As a matter of fact, my hero's put on a uniform every day, and defend Americans (and many others) against just such a thing. Look not to terrorists and criminals for hero's, and ignore those who truly are...Just a thought...

To expose the truth about the crimes committed by the government is the worst crime there is. They should publicly torture him so nobody else ever dares expose the lies told by government. Hooray America, land of the free and home of the brave, where the people cheer as the government commits crimes against humanity. If I had committed those crimes, I would certainly want to kill the person who exposed them.

Violence breeds violence. Nobody would have to do the "nasty work" of murdering foreigners if the US hadn't interfered in every country on the planet and made so many enemies who are willing to die to kill us. Violence is never the answer, but government, all government, is nothing more than a territorial monopoly on the legalized initiation of violence. Every government commits violence and coercion against its own "citizens," but the US is one of the few countries that has the hubris to commit violence and coercion against anyone on the planet and then say THEY are the terrorists.

Thank goodness at least one person has the balls to expose the corruption and one country has the balls to protect him.
