Then you support the corruption of the governments across the world. Go ahead and try to say you don't. It won't matter because you do. He's trying to let people know the truth, and they're using the rape accusations—which are false; the women bragged about having sex with him the following day. The one woman only wanted him to get tested after he didn't wear a condom. The police took that as a rape accusation—to try to send him to the US. The government is just mad that they're being exposed for the evil they do behind closed doors.

Maybe some armed Americans should go there and help him get to Ecuador. After all the country he helped the most was the US.

Yeah I am sure that's gonna happen. They will get him eventually, it's just a matter of time. Exactly how did Assage help the US?
Can't wait to hear your Liberal spin on this one!

So you admit that the Swedes want the UK to extradite him to Sweden only because he would subsequently be extradited to America, even if he is found not guilty by Sweden's courts.

I have a plan. Ecuador invades Gibraltar, a British colony in the South of Spain, and then they exchange prisoners.

It's pathetic that, in the supposed land of Free Speech, his was taken from him. If the government didn't have any skeletons in the closet, there'd be nothing they needed to hide. He's a true advocate for the people and I, as an American citizen embracing the Constitution and our "old" democracy, applaud him. He has my FULL support.

Part of me wants to know why Ecuador wants to help a hacker. The US and UK may be making a big mistake by threatening Assange; he may end up spying on them for his new country.

If that happens then I'm suggestion a revolution. In fact I'd like for thousands to form a human blockage around the embassy to not allow police near him. And just to get him to the helicopter.

Telling the truth isn't popular amongst any of the worlds governments and Ecuador is no exception and unless US Security HAS been damaged, the charges of rape in Sweden(which were dropped by the supposed victims ages ago)are just a pseudo media Witch Hunt scam and to get him to Sweden to then be delivered to USA authorities..

But besides that, yes I agree that he deserves asylum. We can't just take away the right to seek asylum because we don't like the guy.

that's funny..but true, the only way their getting him their is by hiding him..and his chances of not commiting suicide, having a heart attack, a fatal accident..while living there..are slim to none !

If we alienate somebody's inalienable rights we are doing much worse. We are creating a dictatorship.

He is not being charged for that (yet, they are still formulating the charges), but he is wanted for questioning by the Swedish government. The embassy in Ecuador offered to have Swedish officials flown in to speak to him but they refused. Therefore, he still has the right to seek asylum, whether you like it or not.

I could care less about Sweden or rape charges.
Ecuador does not have a dog in this fight and needs to mind their own business.
He has NO Right to asylum. Asylum is not for people who are accused of crimes. Crimes btw he can not deny....the proof is on Wikileaks for everyone to see.
Those are the facts.....whether YOU like it or not!

He is not being charged by the American government. THAT is a fact. So why should a person who is not being charged with anything not be granted the right to seek asylum?

EDIT: He also convinced other people to steal the documents, he did not get his hands dirty so there may or may not be evidence against him.

He hasn't been charged. Precisely. Whether he's guilty or not doesn't matter. HE HAS NOT BEEN CHARGED WITH ANYTHING. How is this not going through your thick skull? If he has not been charged with anything then you cannot deny him the right to seek asylum! Even if he is charged tomorrow or in one hour, right now, he is not being charged!

He got Asylum and hasn't been charged. He wins, you lose. He's a hero regardless of what you say. The government is supposed to have served the people, not cover their own corrupt bureaucratic asses. We have the right to know our governments are up to and Assange reminded the world of that

We will see about that now won't we. He is a prisoner in the Ecuador Embassy, and the UK has already said they will take him by force if necessary. That dude is going nowhere, except to prison where he belongs.

I and many others believe that we have the right to know what the people WE put in power to represent US on the domestic and foreign stage are up to. Information should be free as it was intended to be. But whatever, we'll see how this all pans out.
  • gvc Meebo 2012/08/27 21:30:09
    gvc
Well sit down, YOU DON'T have a right to classified information, regardless of what YOU THINK.
You have to be a special kind of naive to believe all government information should be free for all to see. It was NEVER intended to be that way, and it never will be that way. Deal with it.

lol. Still fighting the losing fight, hey? You don't seem to be swaying anyone to your point of view. It is what it is, he has asylum. Whatever comeback you come up with, however condescending, won't change that.
