Absolutely. If the Swedes had given assurances that he would not be transferred to the US, I'd have said extradite him but absent that assurance, there was torture in his future.

I grew up on Ecuadorian money. Five Ecuadorian Sucres were equal to $1 dollar in 1958, in Ecuador.
Five Sucres lasted me all week, 20 reales bus fare 60 reales lunch, 5 Sucres was my allowance. So therefore its hard to believe that today the Sucre no longer exists. In 1982, Ecuadorian President Jaime Roldos saw that Ecuador had a great future, it had beautiful Galapagos islands, our Amazon Oriente which was producing oil and Ecuador was an OPEC country.

Jaime was offered a World Bank Loan. A loan from the Friendly Bank of the Yankis who just wanted to help us. How nice! The loan even came with a few secret Swiss bank accounts for those friendly service fees!
Jaime turned down everything! Next thing you know his plane comes crashing down right near the US Airforce base and friendly Yankis got there/their first and cordoned off the scene. A few years after the loan was approved the Ecuadorian economy cashed! The Sucre is worthless. The Ecuadorian Amazon is a toxic dump with 22 times the amount of oil spilled than the Exxon Valdez in Alaska.
Ecuadorians are no longer your slaves. Ecuadorians are happy people but they have been wronged and ripped off. Especially after finding out the USA paid Peru to invade Ecuador in 1941. For oil of course.

Anybody happen to watch the Odyssey treasure ship show on Discovery? If so, you might recall that the last shows was of the Odyssey finding treasure worth hundreds of millions of dollars in gold and silver coins. The Odyssey docked in Gibraltar and then chartered a Boeing 757 to fly the treasure back to the U.S. Spain then got involved and blockaded the ships in the Gibraltar. After many many months of legal wrangling, a U.S. judge ruled that all the treasure belonged to Spain and had to be returned. WikiLeaks then disclosed a diplomatic cable between the U.S. and Spain that more or less said that the U.S. would return the treasure if Spain would return a couple of stolen paintings.

IMHO, that's why WikiLeaks is important to all of us. A conspiracy or illegal actions by our government should not be tolerated and if it wasn't for WikiLeaks, nobody would even know. Assange is doing us all a favor and I don't believe for one minute the trumped up sex charges that Sweden or whoever tried to bring against him.

He is a disgrace. Jeopardizing American service people with his leaks. He should be extradited to face the charges against him.

I'm sure they will be thrilled when he starts leaking things about Ecuador. A snake does what a snake does. No one appointed him as judge, jury and executioner helping to put American troops at risk by posting critical, covert information. Yet some people think he's a hero??? Of course Assange would leak information about the Ecuadorian government, if it were leaked to wikileaks. Why shouldn't the citizens of a country know what that country is doing?
