Then you support the corruption of the governments across the world. Go ahead and try to say you don't. It won't matter because you do. He's trying to let people know the truth, and they're using the rape accusations—which are false; the women bragged about having sex with him the following day. The one woman only wanted him to get tested after he didn't wear a condom. The police took that as a rape accusation—to try to send him to the US. The government is just mad that they're being exposed for the evil they do behind closed doors.

I never said I knew innocent people were killed, im not sure if they were, but that they were endangered. I can give links to back that up
    http://www.weeklystandard.com...

I don't disagree wikileaks revealed some important information. But that its indiscretion in releasing information was reckless and in certain cases, criminal. I think assange should answer for that.

That women appears severely misinformed. The Taliban greatly curtailed women's freedoms and restricted the freedoms of all Afghans. I don't deny women's rights still need a great deal of improvement, but it is far better than in the Taliban era and their rights were better in the pre-taliban era as well.

Assange is not an American citizen. None of the things he did on Wikileaks were done on American soil. Nothing he did was against the laws of Australia (he's Australian). Except for the allegations of failing to use a condom in Sweden, he is not known to have broken any laws in any place he has set foot. On what basis, therefore, do you claim that he "should answer for that"?

Or do you think that American women should be liable for arrest and extradition to Peru based on the idea that abortion is illegal in Peru even though they've never been to Peru and aren't Peruvian citizens?

You claim that women's rights are far better in the post-Taliban era. Source?

Sweden can extradite him to the us for his crimes.
And heres a source to how bad the taliban made life for ppl and how its improving today:

Oh a safe world for women dot org... there's a completely objective source for you. I note they didn't address why additional opium cultivation makes them freer and more prosperous.

You say that Sweden can extradite him to the US for his crimes, yet Assange has committed no crimes. He has not been indicted by any government anywhere for anything.

I think you should be extradited to Saudi Arabia for failing to keep your hair covered as required by Islamic law. You probably drive a car too, and you're a woman, so that's a second crime. Never mind that they haven't charged you with that crime. The US should just do it as a swap for Assange going to the US to be tried for things that weren't crimes when and where he did them.

    Fair is fair.

Of course I agree with it. Assange is a hero. The only part of this story that makes me sad is that people are more likely to have their freedom of speech and conscience protected in ECUADOR than in the so-called "free" and "enlightened" Western superpowers now!

All this talk of extradition and secret military tribunals, and for what? For giving people information about their own government? For speaking truth to power? Our forefathers would be DISGUSTED with us for how we've prostrated ourselves at the altar of the state in exchange for our most basic human rights.

Why all this talk of extradition? It's for the fact that Assange is self-aggrandizing jerk who has no interest in the truth or transparency and who put innocent lives at risk. for example, he reported the names and locations of Afghans who were trying to help NATO fight the Taliban. So no, Assange is not a hero.

He's a hero for possibly raping someone? You have a strange definition of hero. This doesn't involve the US it is between Sweden, the UK and Ecuador.

About time.! I totally disagree with the UK Government stance of being Americas lap dog and not letting Julian leave the UK. These trumped up charges are a lie. The US would extradite Julian from Sweden and he would be held indefinitely on no charge.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... yeah right ! Everybody on the planet knows the charge is an attempt to smear Julian. A common treatment by the US for a whistleblower. Both women have already stated the sex was consensual. This has everything to do with Wikileaks. If there was a rape why hasn't he been charged? He hasn't been charged with any crime. He has been held without charge for over a year simply because he published documents that exposed America's support for ruthless dictators throughout the Middle East amongst other diabolical things. America's dirty little secrets laid bare.

Not "odd" at all if you look at the whole picture. Since you are only focusing on the "possible rape" which everyone knows is trumped up, it is obvious that you aren't interested in what is really happening to this man. If you believe in freedom, that is truly terrifying.

"Ecuador said it had tried to get assurances from Britain and Sweden that Assange could not be extradited to a third country but that no assurance was given." (from http://in.reuters.com/article... ). If it is just between Sweden and Assange, why can't a simple assurance be obtained that Assange will not be resent to the USA?

I grew up on Ecuadorian money. Five Ecuadorian Sucres were equal to $1 dollar in 1958, in Ecuador.
Five Sucres lasted me all week, 20 reales bus fare 60 reales lunch, 5 Sucres was my allowance. So therefore its hard to believe that today the Sucre no longer exists. In 1982, Ecuadorian President Jaime Roldos saw that Ecuador had a great future, it had beautiful Galapagos islands, our Amazon Oriente which was producing oil and Ecuador was an OPEC country.

Jaime was offered a World Bank Loan. A loan from the Friendly Bank of the Yankis who just wanted to help us. How nice! The loan even came with a few secret Swiss bank accounts for those friendly service fees!
Jaime turned down everything! Next thing you know his plane comes crashing down right near the US Airforce base and friendly Yankis got there/their first and cordoned off the scene. A few years after the loan was approved the Ecuadorian economy cashed! The Sucre is worthless. The Ecuadorian Amazon is a toxic dump with 22 times the amount of oil spilled than the Exxon Valdez in Alaska.
Ecuadorians are no longer your slaves. Ecuadorians are happy people but they have been wronged and ripped off. Especially after finding out the USA paid Peru to invade Ecuador in 1941. For oil of course.

I like your comment on Ecuador. I wish the US would leave other countries alone.

The UK government permitted Pinochet to exit the country when the Spanish government wanted to charge him with human rights violation (genocide.) But, they say they wont let Assange leave as he is wanted in Sweden for an interview about an accusation of rape .

Who is Julian Assange’s chief accuser in Sweden? She’s a gender equity officer at Uppsula University – who chose to associate with a US funded group openly supported by a convicted terrorist and mass murderer. She just happens to have her work published by a very well funded group connected with Union Liberal Cubana – whose leader, Carlos Alberto Montaner, in turn just happened to pop up on right wing Colombian TV a few hours after the right-wing coup in Honduras. Where he joined the leader of the failed coup in Ecuador to savage Correa, the target of the coup. Montnaner also just happened to vociferously support the violent coup in Honduras, and chose to show up to sing the praises of the Honduran junta.
