DP 2012/08/16 23:14:19Yes+29Then you support the corruption of the governments across the world. Go ahead and try to say you don't. It won't matter because you do. He's trying to let people know the truth, and they're using the rape accusations—which are false; the women bragged about having sex with him the following day. The one woman only wanted him to get tested after he didn't wear a condom. The police took that as a rape accusation—to try to send him to the US. The government is just mad that they're being exposed for the evil they do behind closed doors.

Mind you i do not believe my government, and this is a load of old tosh to shut someone up who dared speak up and expose what he found.
It happens all the time, he is lying, no he is lying, and when the truth does come out even in black and white, its still lies to some and truth to some, and grey areas to others.
Took a long time for this woman to say she was rapped, never even knew that rape was not putting on a condom before sex!
Just saying IF he exposed someone to danger.
Have we, as Americans, really reached the point where some of us believe that journalists should be imprisoned or summarily executed for reporting on corruption? Take a step back, listen to your self, and imagine what you would say if a North Korean or Iranian man said the same thing about somebody who exposes secret crimes of his government.
PS. Assange is Swedish, not American, thus your charge of treason is irrefutably false.
58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”
59 At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.
Sorry. It's a peeve of mine to take what he said out of context. The quote belongs to when one goes about converting others to your religion, not to everything in general.
SORRY FOR POINTING OUT THE HIDDEN PERSONALITY TRAIT. MOST PEOPLE WON'T TELL YOU THAT BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST LIKE YOU THE TRUTH IS NOT # 1 ON THEIR LIST EITHER, SO YOU THINK THEIR FRIENDS AND THEY REALLY ARE NOT, YOU THINK THE WIFE IN LOYAL, BUT SHE IS REALLY IS NOT, YOU THINK YOUR RESPECTED, BUT YOUR REALLY NOT. A LIFE OF DECEPTIONS AND CONVOLUTION IS YOURS. SAD HUH..
And seeing as you are in deed turning this into an attack, this conversation is done. I was not targeting you specifically but you choose to return far more then I intended.
Regardless, from what I've read, the rape thing almost seems to be a sham and it's really about his actions at WikiLeaks, which I agree with. Admittedly my information is not the best and I don't really know the truth, but I have to say that right now I agree with Ecuadors decision and strongly disagree with the UK's position.
The Foreign Office says it can revoke an embassy's diplomatic status but Ecuador claims this is only if there is a public threat.
Do understand and i would feel the same if the USA would have done the same, but they just cant waltz in, they have to go down certain paths.
Five Sucres lasted me all week, 20 reales bus fare 60 reales lunch, 5 Sucres was my allowance. So therefore its hard to believe that today the Sucre no longer exists. In 1982, Ecuadorian President Jaime Roldos saw that Ecuador had a great future, it had beautiful Galapagos islands, our Amazon Oriente which was producing oil and Ecuador was an OPEC country.
Jaime was offered a World Bank Loan. A loan from the Friendly Bank of the Yankis who just wanted to help us. How nice! The loan even came with a few secret Swiss bank accounts for those friendly service fees!
Jaime turned down everything! Next thing you know his plane comes crashing down right near the US Airforce base and friendly Yankis got there/their first and cordoned off the scene. A few years after the loan was approved the Ecuadorian economy cashed! The Sucre is worthless. The Ecuadorian Amazon is a toxic dump with 22 times the amount of oil spilled than the Exxon Valdez in Alaska.
Ecuadorians are no longer slaves. Ecuadorians are happy people but they have been wronged and ripped off. Especially after finding out the USA paid Peru to invade Ecuador in 1941. For oil of course.
We don't have to like the truth, but we can still be accepting of it. There is alot of uncomfortable truths out there, from taxes to this to the fact in the end it doesn't matter as we'll be 6 ft under of whatever causes.
And as for the reasons why a gov't might want to hide stuff, is that while you might be a patrioit.. the guy next to you might not. Putting something out there in the open ALSO allows all the other countries to see what your doing too, and that can be damaging as long as even one power is witholding and willing to abuse everyone's trust for it's personal gain.
If every single gov't was above board on everything, great! world peace and all...
sadly, the erality is no one is going to do that. So by neccessity a gov't has to hide things from it's own people because revealing X fact to them means it will also reveal it to rival, maybe hostile countries.
You are not the only one that reads the news paper.
HOWEVER.. there is the freedom of information act. If you want access to some of those things that arn't public domain, put a FOI request in. You might get what you want.
If it looks like a fish, smells like a fish and wiggles like a fish, I bet it's a fish.
All it takes is one bad apple, but in this case.. every apple is bad.
Jesus tried to set an example. The roman got him on the cross. He teaches us to love, but not be stupid about it.
Anyone who starts down that path first is going to get burned by others who are far less willing to do the same, and will only see opportunity where there should be good will. And regiems like north korea, china, vietnam, saudi arabia, iraq... they won't ever open up fully to the public, not if it means losing power at the upper ends.
Actually.. that statement is pretty much true of every country.
You want an Airforce base in Manta, then Ecuador wants an Airforce base in Miami. OK?
We dont want your money. Keep it and stuff it where the sun dont shine.
Since your American government wanted me back to bad, here I am to give em hell.
