Do you agree with Clint Eastwood that we have to fire politicians who don't do their jobs?

Walt 2012/08/31 02:17:33
Referring to elected political leaders, tonight Clint Eastwood said at the Republican National Convention that when a politician doesn't do his job, "We've got to let them go."

Do you agree with that statement?
You!

Not only should they be fired, but if they do anything illegal, their perks, benefits and pensions should be stopped.

Yes, and not only that, I believe it should be up to us, to decide their pay, raises, vacation time, benefits, etc. They should not be the ones to decide when they get a pay raise or their retirement package. After all, we are their boss. We do their evaluation.

Good point. How can anyone think members of Congress should be allowed to consistently vote for their own raises with no oversight? It's crazy!

Yes, they're supposed to be working for us, people who don't do their jobs get fired in the private sector so there's no reason why public servants can't be fired too.

I agree, but the problem is that for the last hundred years, at least, people have voted party because they think it's some gain to keep a particular seat in the party. Therefore, people are elected over and over just because people vote party! I'm a dedicated Republican, but I can certainly see when the person holding an office needs to go, and I won't stick with a member of my party who has outlived his dedication to right. There desperately need to be term limits, but how will we ever get them?

Well we could stop re-electing incumbents, 90-some% of the time. If an incumbent is abusing his office, if he is not defending the Constitution and limiting the government, then he is useless and needs to be fired. Passing ever more bills, spending ever more overburdened taxpayer money, should never be the measure of "progress." We should ask more of our politicians, how many bills have they repealed or sunseted?

But the New World Order criminal elitists have played us for fools, painting "the other party" as the evil people to get rid of, and so we vote party lines, and incumbents within their party-slanted districts, are stuck as "career politicians." When the real enemy is the New World Order criminal elitists, who act as if they were better than everybody else.

Normal people get fired when they don't do their jobs, so why should politics be any different.

Absolutely! Politicians have become pretty confident that once they are elected, few of their constituents pay attention to what they are doing and fewer still call them out on it. The longer they are in office, the more arrogant and further removed from the electorate
they become. It is long past time we set them straight!

I have been saying that for years. That is the only way they will take us seriously. We have to show them that THEY work for us.Not US for them!
