i am very much against abortion, but, to compare what a woman chooses to do with her own body to a psycho killing little kids is ridiculous, callous and just plain wrong

Very much agree but they will justify this as a woman's "choice" but Lanza also chose to kill those people.

Forced socialism is the road to slavery! All cases where man attemps to rule over man is a system based on aggression against innocents. It's wrong, even if it creates programs that feed the hungry, provide shelter, take care of the sick, etc. This is because theft of property is wrong, extortion is wrong, threatening to throw innocent people in a cage is wrong, slavery is wrong, no matter what, for all people at all times. if you advocate a government program, you advocate evil. There is no crime without injury, harm, or loss! Anything else is simply religion, or what some people call good. The only reason that man is able to get the consent of the people for them to be rule over is the promise of social security!!!

Dems say capital punishment or execution is wrong. But a adult who is sentenced to death deservis it a baby has done nothing wrong the parents did.

I chose agree for the lack of a better choice. I don't believe in abortion personally, but I do believe in the right of choice.
What actually gets me is this. Most, I won't say all, of the people that are against abortion or pro choice, have no qualms about sending that fetus to die or kill in war once it reaches the so called age of maturity. This in my opinion is hypocracy. If life is sacred, it is sacred at all stages, but alas life is cheap, you would not believe how cheap.

I do NOT believe in abortion. Hey there are so many ways these days to NOT get pregnant! Take repsonsibility. Take charge of your life. People use abortion as if it's birth control and that's just wrong!

It really is hard to understand how anyone cannot see that abortion is the murder of an innocent life. It makes me so sad. Lucky for all those that feel that way that their own mothers did not share that same moral sentiment.

I so agree! Life begins at the moment of conception! Sure it may not look like a human but don't we all change throughout our lives? We don't look the same as when we are 2 years old as when we are 50.

I am against the death penalty. The reason is is that how many times have we seen innocent people be sent to death row? How many people that were on death row that were innocent and they were put to death? Remember a few years ago when they did a bunch of DNA tests and a bunch of innocent people were released from jail?
  • Sir Bud. LoriTG 2012/12/31 01:45:34

True. And the death penalty obviously does not act as a deterrent and especially when we know gun homicide is more often than not the result of a sudden uncontrolled impulse. In fact many knowing that the death penalty will await them after they have done their evil deed then shoot themselves for the quicker and easier way out.Personally,I reckon the thought of spending the rest of their lives behind bars working 12 hours a day of unpaid hard labor would be more of a deterrent and less of an escape.
  • LoriTG Sir Bud. 2012/12/31 02:21:12

Well, the death penalty might not be working for a couple of reasons. One is because a lot of states have so many appeals that it takes years before someone is actually put to death. Another reason is a lot of people that were on death row get off on technicalities. I know because I know someone that was on death row and his lawyer was able to get him aquitted. Jail time isn't a deterrent because it's not a punishment anymore. They have TV with cable, they get fed, they have equipment where they can workout, they are allowed to play games, they have access to computers and the internet, libraries, education, etc. They shouldn't have any of that. They shouold have to sit in their cells all day long and that's it. Also, I feel that if someone plans a murder knowing that they could get the death penalty then they must be mentally ill.

Only people who have not been imprisoned will imagine that its high life spending the rest of their lives in a top security jail. The Golden cage idea is pure Hollywood fantasy.Though criminal justice has focused on rehabilitation and educating prisoners to be peaceful law abiding citizens when leaving jail, the issue of life imprisonment without any prospects of being one day free is a very different matter.Expert research in Germany done with the co-operation of the Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice over the last ten years has shown that two thirds of American inmates would be administered into Prisons for the emotionally disturbed in Germany and not in "normal" Jails. The same goes for Sweden I believe more or less.So you are onto something regarding mental illness and crime-keep digging and much luck.

The will to murder others goes far beyond gun laws--remember last year when 86 children were shot down in Norway, where all firearms are banned. This kind of evil obviously can not be curbed through the laws of Man.
  • LoriTG RevJim 2012/12/30 23:11:37
    LoriTG
Yes but how often did this occur? Would you say that town in Norway had less or more murders in a given period of time?
