Pretty much I gotta say yea we belong to the government because there is no way to completely free ur self from it unless u go live in another country then that's another story
We fought a revolution to free ourselves once, and a civil war 100 years later. Standing up to this tyranny is the only way and it begins at the local level. You have to get out the vote, rid your community of these progressive big government types, establishment repubicians, liberals, and socialist, in order to restore liberty and freedom. That's how we retake our country!
Laurel and Hardy made a movie called "Utopia" where they left taxes, laws and regulations behind to none of that stuff. Find it, watch it and see if it has any place in your heart about your country! What happens in this comedy movie is far more worthy of re-election than the Obama-Biden comedy team that have made a mockery of most everything American!
Social Security number is a product of progressivism, it has the benefits of tracking many aspects of our lives for our own good universal good. Your own freedom gives you more rights than you would have in most any other country, including the right to leave it all behind for anything you like as long as you join their parties and or their religions or die for your refusal. Then try leaving it all behind there and come back with the bulk of your belongings you left with. Without that SSN, you are at the mercy of your host nation and your voice is silenced until they say, "Do you have any last words?"
The government works for us. they are public servants. If they don't represent us well we vote them out of office. There is no royalty in America and no dictatorships !
They don't forget their oath to the Constitution, but the GOP especially knows that its contributions (bribes) come from the ultra-wealthy. For this reason, Republicans sign an oath to the lobbyist Grover Norquist, one they take much more seriously than their oath to Constitutional government.
Not even close. Where did you get that information? Never mind, I know that you made it up. My question is why you would want a party in control whose members sign an oath to the lobbyist Grover Norquist never to raise taxes on their richest "donors", an oath they take far more seriously than their oath to the Constitution. Romney/Rove has promised to allow Social Security accounts to be "invested" by your buddies on Wall Street (privatization) and to replace Medicare with a voucher system that will, sooner rather than later, not cover the cost of finding insurance for the elderly on the "free" market. They have promised to compensate more more tax cuts and subsidies for corporations that outsource American jobs by cutting loopholes benefiting the poor and middle classes, thereby increase the income tax of the average family (yours and mine) by $2,000.
Unless you support such policies (and I am sure you do not), then I can think of only one reason for "supporting" the GOP: to enjoy one gleeful moment of gloating over an Obama defeat--the consequences be damned.
If you really care about reality, you will have no trouble locating verifiable facts and data. The GOP is swimming in massive "contributions" from the wealthiest individuals in the history of the world--if you want ...

If you really care about reality, you will have no trouble locating verifiable facts and data. The GOP is swimming in massive "contributions" from the wealthiest individuals in the history of the world--if you want to know who they are, just link to http://www.rollingstone.com/p... from which I copied the following excerpt :
"...the political polarization and gridlock in Washington are a direct result of the GOP's capitulation to Big Money.
"That capitulation is evident in Romney's campaign. Most of the megadonors backing his candidacy are elderly billionaires: Their median age is 66, and their median wealth is $1 billion. Each is looking for a payoff that will benefit his business interests, and they will all profit from Romney's pledge to eliminate inheritance taxes, extend the Bush tax cuts for the superwealthy – and then slash the top tax rate by another 20 percent. Romney has firmly joined the ranks of the economic nutcases who spout the lie of trickle-down economics....
"Here are the 16 donors who have given at least $1 million each to elect Romney – and what they expect in return for their investment:"
Did you even watch the video. The dem says we all belong to the government. As for GOP swimming in money. the richest donors like Soros, Gates, Buffet and many richest people support obama. They find obama more generous to them too.
Do you think that I am so shallow that I believe any statement if it comes from what you evidently surmise to be my "proper" source? I have been an independent and critical thinker since a boy being taught by my father to question all I hear and read.
I subscribe to no dogma and to no ideology, and I am accountable only to God.
It is no intellectual effort at all to discard a blanket statement claiming that people belong to the government. Everywhere (just below this posting, p. ex.) are people, who--like me--understand that under the Constitution the government is supposed to be of, by, and for the people. When a party--the GOP--sells out to a few billionaires and establishes a government in which the rich make the rules, I oppose that party.
Why don't you? Are you more interested in simply enjoying a fleeting moment of gleeful gloating over seeing Obama defeated? Are the consequences of our living under a Romney/Rove government (GWB/Rove on steroids) of so little concern to you?
It's happening on both sides. If you don't believe that you're very, very naive. And if you think Barak Obama or Jie Biden give one crap about us commoners you are even more naive. They are all the same.
No, they are not. Evidence of my point is that you make no effort to go beyond bald assertion. You ignore the differences in policies I spell out and substantiate.
Thinking that calling me naïve influences me in the least is, well, naïve.
I don't care who you vote for. I'm voting my self interest which is GOP. All you liberals vote your interests then wag your finger at me for doing the same. Naive and hypocritical
you were doing fine until you stated that GOP is selling to billionaires. It seems to escape your critical thinking that the Democrat party is owned by a few richest bilionaires like Soros, Buffet, Gates, Goldman Sachs and Wall Street and the Hollywood moguls. Where do you think the $6 trillion dollars go? obama gave all that money to Wall Street and his other supporters. I think OWS is missing a point by harrassing republicans.
I know that $6 trillion dollars do not go to the people you listed. Have you seen any chart of our budget?
The fact that there are wealthy patriots should not lead you to make claims you cannot substantiate.
You clearly do not know that Wall Street is banking on the GOP, hoping to make its investment in Republicans continue to pay off.
Your claims are your way of rationalizing (I think) a more socially acceptable way of opposing Obama because he symbolizes the Civil Rights Act and (I presume) your resentment of having to pay taxes to pay for the leisurely lifestyle of lazy Welfare Queens living high on the hog off welfare.
Oh my, aren't you so full of it. Do you really believe that those greedy fatcats would finance your messiah if they did not get anything from him? So, because they finance your side of politics, you call them wealthy patriots? You are hypocrite. I am sure if they gave money to GOP you would call them all vile names you know.
And the lies from the democrats are nothing more than politics? That must be some coolaid you have been drinking. Most all of the Republican is somewhat susceptable to "political spin". From the day surrounding the DNC convention and its prime players if you didn't hear deliberate lies you are either watching fluff on TV or the network news. There were blatant lies for their followers to hear. An American would stand up against that on either side. DNC Chair Debbie Wassermann-Schultz was caught in two huge lies and called out by Anderson Cooper on one and others that jumped on the international blooper regarding US - Israeli relations where she was caught on audio. One correction, it seems a great number of the politician in Congress have forgotten their oath of office and pledge to their constituents. Otherwise we would not be having this fiscal crisis with Obamacare sitting on top of it to crush us even more. We don't even know where Obama got all of his 2008 contributions. With NO limits anyone can buy an election and destroy a vibrant country! will you stand by while the DNC dismantles America?
Our elected officials don't forget their oath to the Constitution, but the GOP especially knows that its contributions (bribes) come from the ultra-wealthy. For this reason, Republicans sign an oath to the lobbyist Grover Norquist, one they take much more seriously than their oath to Constitutional government.
We may collectively pay taxes and we may require IDs to drive, which is designed to protect people from those who may drive recklessly or illegally. Drivers licences are to show that you took and passed a driving test, and also to prove you are who you say you are. That is not government control, it is public safety. Now if the government said everyone must drive a car, that would be government control. As Clint said, "We own this country."
Those of you that voted "NO" try not paying your taxes or driving without a licence or insurance or going through an airport or into a government building without being searched electronically or manually. Wether you realize it or not, the Government owns you baby!
