The question is strange. What is the source of such concern?

From the founding of our Republic, goverment is, Constitutionally, We the People. It is not a separate entity. Were it not for the wealth and influence of a few ultra-wealthy families, our "representatives" would be accountable to us, not to an oath to the lobbyist Grover Norquist (an oath to never raise taxes on the wealthy), and not to their super-rich masters, who are determined that the rich will make all the rules.

If you don't think that you belong to the government, try not paying any taxes or showing up for court dates or jury duty. You will see the government on your door step taking you and your perceived freedoms away from you very quickly.

If the question was should we all belong to the Government, the answer would be No. The government belongs to us! However, most people don't vote or follow politics enough to see the small changes that happen all the time. Enough small changes over time make big changes in the end. Try turning 2 degrees each time you fly/sail another mile and after 90 miles plot your course on the map. You are going right back to where you started from! The bigger change is now we do BELONG to the Government. We get the option to walk the straight and narrow. After Bush, we can only hope for the best. Just be careful if you slip...

Not just Bush. You've got to go back decades with each administration, both Democrat and Republican, making changes little by little, taking away our rights. and liberty.

Not yet ... but it won't be too far into the future if people don't wake up and take notice of where we're headed.

But if Obama wins in November, watch out. Obama will set up his Dictatorship and unless we have the fortitude to fight for our Liberty we will indeed belong to his Marxist government.

Government should serve the people....BUT....the politicans have fabricated ways to do things that we have no voice in....
    Congress --has no term limits
    Congress..doesn't pay into social security
    Congress-- is exempt from Obamacare
Congress- .. full lifetime retirement regardless of how many years they serve
Congress- wages are not based on Productivity or performance..

Under the New World Order...the first phase has begun. State control is the foundation of the plan.

America is already lost. The train left the station when voters put Obama in charge.

It's not what the founders of this country intended, the government is supposed to have the "consent of the governed" but sadly we are well passed those days... Now we do indeed "belong" to the government, I challenge anyone to name one thing in their lives in which the government doesn't involve itself. It's pathetic. Land of the free my ass.

The government works for us, at least that is the way it is supposed to be. However the politicians try to make us feel that they run us.

The government is supposed to belong to us. In reality, of course, it is a tyrannical group. I do not think of the government as "we"; it is definitely "they." We have government of the overpaid elites, by kleptocrats and megalomaniacs, and for the special interests.

The government belongs to us. It is up to us to identify and connect the various ist's groups that have joined together to be called the progressives.

This pro big governemnt video and their appalling disgraceful behavior booing God, not once but three times, should tell ALL Americans what we are facing.

Vote out the progressives! They are running for your school boards, city councils, Senate and Congress and especially the Marxist Obama. Even he started his career in the local elections. Stop them before they get TOO BIG TOO FAIL.

In a way we do, since we the no longer have control of are government. When we lost control, we are not the government any longer. It time to take back are government and make it our again. Those who have been in control have made our economy a mess since Reagan. Do you think this election is go to change any? Look at the the candidates up to run our country. It appear that it been set up for Obama to to be re-elected, since Mitt is in for not you and I but for corporate interests. This show how we no have a government for the people and by the people. Government control Government control

This is yet another Progressive line of BS. We are the government because we are a government of the people, for the people, by the people. (not necessarily in that order) Unfortunately we've given that away to the Obama's, Romney’s, Reid’s, Bush's, and Pelosi's of the world who don't govern by the peoples will, but based on their own agendas. Obama care is perfect example of this when 70% of the people opposed it, yet it was passed and passed dishonestly through back room deals, bribes, and lies. For you progressives, I realize both parties push bad policy, but this is one of the most recent and most flagrant.

But according to 0bama and DNC we do.
According to communist manifesto, the government comprised of the elite communists owns all means of production. Since people are means of production then the government owns them.

Unfortunately we do. We shouldn't, but we do. The Government should belong to us. They are supposed to work for us. But the tail has been wagging the dog for the last 20 or so years. The real question is can we the people resume control, or will apathy reign?

Actually I see this like a war game, you have to have a strategic plan. The way the system works, people like Nader, Johnson, Paul, have no chance of winning. So yes we are stuck with the two parties. We either work to change the party, or we work to elect legislators not beholden to either party, then we enact legislation giving the 3rd party guys a fair chance. If done of that would work, all we have left is revolution
