I don't base my general aversion to (fundy) Muslims on the basis of what some of the more extremist elements might do. I base it on the Koran. Where Christians 'key' on love as the central theme of the Bible, Muslims key on stark terror. I have the greatest sympathy for Muslims, though, because their concept of 'God' as portrayed in the Koran is a monster. They go through their whole lives believing in and in abject fear of a sadistic freak!

Understand, though, that this is NOT what I believe to be true about the 'real God.'

I'll say this much for the Koran, though: it started out as some of the most exquisite prose I had ever seen! It's one of the most finely written texts of all times--even if it is a horror tale for all practical purposes.

I'm sorry if my opinions offend you. I don't apologize for having them.

As for needing to read the Koran more often/deeply, I AGREE. Every person who calls themselves a believer in the ONE God should read ALL that is said about Him. The Bible, the Koran, the Talmud, etc.
