I do not usually get really angry on here but one thing that pisses me off is people saying sluts ask to get raped. I made a poll the other day about it being no panties day and some guy was saying any girl that did that is an immoral slut who is asking to get raped. I have been raped. I was wearing Jeans and a t shirt. was I asking for it?
How about instead of telling girls not to get raped we tell people not to rape?

Edit: I am leaving this open but ignoring it for it is bringing up bad memories if I do not respond to you this is why.

I think their are sick people in the world who do mean and nasty things, NO Man, Woman or Child deserves to be violated. You are generalizing the situation by equating rape with slutty clothes. I think for you to overcome you need to get some help or counseling. Best of luck to you and hope you get better soon.

If you asked for it, it wouldn't be rape.

You should have been offended first that they were referred to as "sluts", and then you repeated it.

A "so called" man who rapes a woman needs to be neutered and the nerves to his penis cut. "I can't help myself, she was wearing those tight clothes" is simply a very bad excuse to try and rationalize behavior too obscene to have any basis in reality.

I've had that knock me down, OMG, feeling when a woman was so attractive to me that it almost put me on my knee's. I've simply walked away until my brain fill level was back to normal, then walked back and told the woman she was very attractive. Some thanked me for the compliment, one slapped me and one started screaming I was .....(what "feminists" usually scream when a man opens a door or is otherwise polite)....., and a few wee uncomfortable with my compliment. I dated one for seven months because she thought I was sincere in my compliment (I certainly was). I joined the Army for help in college funding - she changed boyfriends twice and got married.

If either of my two granddaughters was raped, I would hunt the rapist down and ensure that the rapist never again was able to terrorize a woman either physically or psychologically (it's impossible to do that from a grave).

Being a guy, I have no concept of how a rape would affect a woman, but I do know that there were women in my PTSD group counseling who weren't there because ...

I can't say I'm sorry to you because that would mean I could understand the mindset of a creep. I am sorry, and hurt, that you had to have this awful experience.

No, it wasn't your fault, and a boyfriend or husband who immediately cast you in the role of slut or whore is just one whisker from being the same kind of man who attacked you. IMO.

The term 'slut' is relative to the particular culture of the people. For example, certain cultures deem you a 'slut' for simply smiling at a man etc. I hate the word and in my opinion dressing or acting provacativly has nothing to do with being raped. It is ALL on the rapist. Every single bit of it. The rapist is a depraved human being, lacking the moral standards the rest of us have. Also as I said, each culture has their own idea of what 'slut' is. For the record I hate that damn word.

Rapists look for victims they perceive as vulnerable, not women who dress in a particular way. Assuming that women provoke attacks by where they are or the way they dress is victim-blaming. No person, whatever their behaviour, "deserves" to be raped.

To those who voted yes, shame on you. No women deserves to be raped no matter what she wears or not wears. It is irrelevent what a women has on, no man has the right to abuse her. Clothes or lack of does not excuse abuse.

If it is irrelevant, why do they dress in a provocative way? Isn't seeking for power over men, or is it that they only imitate others who do so?

Sorry, but skimpy does not give a man the right to rape. Period. They dress they way they want to dress, and if that means sexy so beit. That does not give the man to do a violent act on them. And stop blaming the victims.
How a women dresses has nothing to do with why men rape.

I never excused the rapists, but one has to do things to protect themselves. We do not live in a perfect society. Our media does not help by showing us the wrong ways to behave.

Why should a women dress differently? Everyone is free to dress as they please. Rape is male dominance, power and humiliation. Nothing more. Dress has nothing to do with it. muslim women have to dress to stop rape in their own culture from their own men, but laughably, they are still raped in their own culture by their own men. So dress is meaningless.

Go ahead. Defy the odds that you will be hurt if you do certain things a certain way.
It's not my fault if I leave the keys in the car and a thief steals it. But I will lose the car.
You should be able to feel safe, but this is not a safe world, and taking precautions is wisdom.

Men have no right to rape a women. Period. I am entitled to dress as I please and not be raped. Just because a women wears something low cut, does not give the man the right to rape. And dingbat, what you wear has nothing to do with it. Men rape for power, humiliation, dominance.

As to wishing me to be raped, that just shows what a p.... you are.
Men have to control themselves and take responsibility for their actions, not the women!!!!!!!!!!!

As I said, you have the right to do what you please, but you do not have the power to choose the consequences of living in an evil world.

I did not wish you to be raped. I wished you to think about what you do in order to protect yourself - the world, even the government, will not protect you. The police can do nothing until a crime has been committed.

Yes. But so is the seduction of men by women. When a person says yes with their body, who listens to their mouth. Actions speak louder than words.
Fortunately for me, I'm terrible at body language.

Asking for it and making decisions that put them in a place for it to happen are different. No one is asking for, or deserves, to be rapped. That said, when someone goes somewhere that they don't know well either alone or with only a friend or two, and drinks, they are putting themselves in a place to make it easier. I'm not saying don't have fun, but never go alone and have a taser and pepper spray.
