    I have a shotgun right next to my bed. My husband has his shotgun next to him. I feel very secure in my house. Jesus has his angels guarding my house. I doubt wicked people would get past them.

    Where I live almost I know everyone has guns. When my wife and I got together she hated the idea of guns in the house Once I assured her that they were safe if locked she decided to start shooting with me now she has a gun of her own and is a good shot. The point of this story that our gun or our friend's gun have never harmed anyone because we are responsible. If gun laws only punished gun owners who were not responsible The gun problem wouldn't be a big issue

    Kill people but don't blame it on the gun. Plenty of irresponsible people in possession of firearms but that in no way means that firearms should be removed from responsible gun owners.

    A gun is a tool that can be used for many things. It is used for killing people too but very infrequently. I own over 35 guns and not one of them has ever been used to kill a person.

    Due to the times, we have become like the old West where you owned a gun to protect yourself against the bad guys! There are plenty of people who own guns but have never killed anyone. But if someone shoots at them first, they can give it right back to them! Right to bear arms

    A weapon is only as dangerous as the person using it.

    What's the difference between a gun and a sword? If they somehow managed to ban/abolish guns. Crimes would be commited with medival weapons.

    Another thing if someone is mudered by a car (driver intentionally running someone over)do you blame Ford and try to get cars abolished. (Not to mention traffic accidents are the 3rd most common cause of death in the USA). But for some reason its perfectly ok to blame gun manufaturers and the 2nd amendmant. Thats just ridicules.

    A gun was invented to kill. That is its only purpose. It may take a human to pull the trigger, but for me a society without guns is a safer place to be.

    Not true for many reasons. 1st before guns, people that wanted to kill other people did so with ease. Wars were fought for thousands of years without guns and millions died. Many more than die by guns today. We have many guns in our house we use them to kill garden pests, livestock predators, and to gather food. Never killed anyone having guns for 35 years i was given my first gun at 12

    the first half of your post is irrelevant. Humans didn't have many things in the past.

    the second bit. Yes, you use them to hunt. They were still invented to kill. I didn't specify humans. But I have no problem with people having guns for the needs of hunting,as long as there are lisences and such in place. But having guns for other reasons, to me is absolutely mental.

    I don't know how your self defense is should you be the victim of a home invasion but I am happy that I have guns because if there were five of them and just my family and they wanted to rape my daughters and wife then take all we owned and slit our throats they would. But I am sure that under the same circumstances with guns on both sides it will not happen to me and my family. we can all shoot they may shoot one of us but that would be the best they would do

    The truth of the matter is that many of us own guns to use for many different things. None of them involve killing people and we feel that we shouldn't be punished because BAD people use them for bad things. Those people should be dealt with in a harsh manner because they would do bad things with or without guns. The beauty of our current system is that if you don't wish to have a gun it is your choice. If I do wish to have a gun I may as long as I don't harm anyone with it. That is fair

    It's a cultural thing. I would never want to live in a society that guns are legal. I just see no benefit in having anyone open to owning them. I have no problem with you owning a gun in your country, why would I? Each to their own. But I would want them as a part of my society.

    Let me help you decide. In urban places you hear of gun violence a lot. That is because bad people use guns for bad things. if there were no guns they would use something else to accomplish the same thing. As they did for thousands of years before guns were invented. I live in a rural area and we use guns to protect our gardens and livestock and to shoot food. This use of guns is not wrong or bad. People are good or bad and should be dealt with guns are neither good nor bad.

    The first killer used a rock. then we invented the knife the spear the sling shot and the blow gun w/poison darts. led pipe or a piano string works and pushing someone off the stairs have been used.You could just snap their neck or use a 9 iron or base ball bat.
