Some of them. Others, like Scott Turow, who supported the death penalty no longer can do so due to the problems with our Judicial system leading to innocent men being executed and murderers walking free without even going to court.
of course that is a problem, but that is why our judicial system needs a serious revamp, there are likely thousands+ of ppl in prisons around the world that have no business being there
Of course we do, which is why most of us support the appeal process that is mandatory in death penalty cases.
What we do not support is letting cold-blooded murderers escape their deserved punishment in the off chance that an innocent person is executed despite having exhausted all of his/her appeals. Which, by the way, has yet to happen.
They would see it as a means to an end.
