Do atheists have an oversimplified concept of God?

Whenever you see an atheist debate about the existence of a creator, they inevitably bring up the Spaghetti Guy here. It always makes me believe they have a over simplified view of a creator. And why they feel the need to compete with him/her/it is just as big of a curiosity. What's up with that?

Yes but not in deathlike and from what I understand he took a vlot of the god and religion out of it. But then again he did not have the science or scientific development to base a lit on either. He was working with limited and faulty information

They do not subscribe at all to the God idea...

I think it is safe to say we have that established. However you aren't addressing the question.

My point is this: If they do not subscribe/believe to/in the God idea at all, then they can not have a complicated nor an over simplified concept of God... in short, they don't any concept at all except that he/she doesn't exist...

All one has to do is study a bit of astronomy to come to the conclusion that there has to be a God. Every week we find new planets in very distant galaxies which all turn up no intelligent life. Look around you, there's no way this all happened by chance.

Atheist oversimplify the science of God.

I look at the rain forest. The drugs found there that so 'coincidentally' cure so many ills.

Willow bark. Digitalis. No reason for them to have evolved to help humans. Or that we EVER would have the intelligence to figure it out. Or the technology.

Mysteries are pure magic for me. I marvel at the wonder and thank God for it.

Actually, in all the 'discussions' on religion vs atheism on here, I've yet to see the Spaghetti Monster make an appearance (which surprised me as I thought he'd be more widespread).

However, if there is a God, I would imagine that they would be so beyond comprehension that we would all, every single one of us from the most vocal atheist to the most devout believer, have an oversimplified of Him/Her/It/They.

Hell no. Father Barron has an oversimplified view on Atheists and the supposed war on religion. We are not a Christian nation and some Atheists believe our money should be more diverse so as to have "In Allah We Trust," "In Buddha We Trust," "In Marijuana We Trust," and so on. It's all about fairness as detailed in the constitution. We celebrate many Christian holidays as a nation yet we ignore major holidays of all other religions. Likie I said, constitutional fairness.

All I did was explain the way things are, things many people don't even think about. Defensive is way off by the way.

Internet doesn't provide inflection, therefore, we must go by what's written and past context.

    "sounded" defensive to me. *shrugs*

Well, the President will celebrate whatever holiday they want, if we elect a Jewish man, I'm sure he won't be celebrating Christmas. That's not government sponsoring a religion as much as just religious freedom. Christmas however is a Federal Holiday, perhaps as America becomes more diverse we'll see more religious Federal Holidays? Not sure.

As for Jefferson, do some research - this is a good place to start http://www.nobeliefs.com/jeff... -.

The item he wrote was the constitution, familiarize yourself with it.

Your last sentence was a hoot, it says a lot about your lack of perspective.

Obviously my point was spot on. When someone has to resort to capital letter bashing and coming to a conclusion with no actual or valid knowledge - is juvenile and petty.

The founding fathers instituted a separation of church and state. You do not have to be religious to be a patriot.

So you think if we elected an Atheist for President we would force him to celebrate christmas for "we the people"? I doubt that would happen.

Yes it is, it is people WE THE PEOPLE elect. You're logic is, once we elect them they stop being WE THE PEOPLE? How does that make any sense to you?

    Whatever it doesn't really matter.
