Most people on Sodahead seem to forget that non-Americans do exist. Y'know, other than the Muslims and illegal aliens they complain about.

I really don't know what other Americans think. There are certainly other cultures in the world and the news media reminds us of that every day. I personally do not think of Earth as "planet America." I respect and appreciate the cultures of other countries even if I do not agree with their politics or their moral/relationship practices. It's not good for a nation to have a head size greater than their hat size. We aren't better or worse than anyone else on this planet. We're just different.

Well maybe not the earth, but some think they are better and more deserving than others in the world. They will diss certain races and religions but seem perfectly ok if it is their country that is doing the killing and they tend to believe all the propaganda their media and government feeds them.

Many do. They seem to believe that the U.S. can act in its own self-interest without regard to the effects on the rest of the world. The George W. Bush administration encouraged this sort of thinking. It's hogwash, of course. We have an ethical obligation to be good citizens of the world as well as good citizens of our nation.

In the United Nations, five countries (called the Permanent Members of the Security Council) can veto a United Nations Security Council resolution.
These five are the USA, the UK, France, Russia (USSR before 1990), and China (Taiwan before 1971).
The USA used its veto over 70 times during the 20th century.
On the majority of occasions, the USA vetoed resolutions that were favoured by the majority of the world's nations.

Votes in the UN against the US are in all US media.
However what about those resolutions the US vetoed?

Here is a list, not even the complete one, on what the US voted AGAINST during the 20th century
Some are very stricking and can't be understood in combinaton with the idea the US has of itself!
For freedom, human rights, against discrimination etc.

    What about these:
--Concerns changes to the United Nations accounting methods--
--Measures to prevent international terrorism, study the underlying political and economic causes of terrorism, convene a conference to define terrorism and to differentiate it from the struggle of people from national liberation--
--Measures to be taken against Nazi, Fascist and neo-Fascist activities--

    South-Africa (apartheid):

Offers assistance to all the oppressed ...

No but we do think of America as a Nation which (after Obama) could be a pattern for other, less fortunate nations. Our form of democracy (being a Representative Republic) is almost unique in the world and a concept which is fair and reasonable to every citizen.

They're just jealous because we have a pretty good standard of living!
Any time there is a natural disaster, or a crazed dictator running amok, WHO do they want? AMERICA! That's who! Any time they want an economic bailout/hand out, WHO do they look to? AMERICA! That 's who! Yet what do they do when murderers wallop wo airplanes into two buildings, slaughtering thousands of innocent civilians? Many of them cheered. Eff them with a capital F! And anyone else that wants to talk smack about US, should have the money pipeline from our economy to theirs shut down!
