A conservative activist closely monitoring the hate crimes legislation pending before a House committee says although the measure still poses a threat to the religious freedom of Christians who speak out publicly against homosexuality, the foundation of the bill has been removed.
Democrats in the House Judiciary Committee had planned on holding a vote on the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act yesterday, but due to a large amount of Republican amendments to the bill, the vote was postponed until this morning. The bill would add homosexuals and transgender people to the list of protected categories under federal hate crimes law.
Andrea Lafferty, executive director of the Traditional Values Coalition, notes that Democrats were forced to eliminate a key portion of the bill -- the findings section.
"We exposed the fact that they claimed, they have fraudulent claims that there was an epidemic of hate against homosexuals and drag queens, transgenders. And that claim was the foundation of the bill," she notes. "They claimed that homosexuals are fleeing across state lines to avoid persecution, and that perpetrators are crossing state lines to commit crimes against these gays, lesbians, and transgenders, and that they have trouble purchasing goods and services or finding employment. We nailed them on the fact that that's a lie."
Lafferty says during yesterday's markup hearing, Democrats neglected to mention that in this country of 300 million people, there have been only 1,521 cases of hate against homosexual, bisexual, and transgender people.
The Judiciary Committee hearing resumes at 9:00 p.m. Central time today. A vote on the House floor is expected next week.

Democrats caught in a lie: A Democrat's speaking is proof positive that he/she is lying.
they would all get the guillotine.
While many states have "hate" crime laws that include homosexuals and lesbians, including bisexuals and transgenders (LGBT), there is no law on the federal level. The bill before Congress would have the Department of Justice investigate and prosecute anti-LGBT "hate" crimes.
Matthew Shepard, as you may know, was a Wyoming college student who was tied to a post and beaten to death by Russell Arthur Henderson and Aaron James McKinney in October 1998, supposedly for being homosexual. It is my belief that Shepard might be a part of a conspiracy by homosexuals to get "hate" crime "legislation" passed into law on the federal level, and that Shepard conspired with the "attackers" and others to do the "murder," so as to have a high profile case with which to title the bill, and to make it very difficult to be against the bill.
The strategy is to undermine Human Rights with Civil Rights "laws." Don't get me wrong, I am for Civil Rights for all Human Beings, as the institutionalization by society of Human Rights. However, there are those who "craft" laws to cause the very lawlessness and violence they claim to want to stop and prevent.

People must not let the conspirators use our good nature against us and our great nation. It would seem to be simple, that "hate" crime laws are an important milestone in Human achievement. However, it is my belief that there are those who are conspiring to undermine Human Rights and to destroy society with fraudulent regulations and laws.
We need an investigation into this matter to stop the conspirators from making laws and regulation utterly criminal.
Please phone your House Representative, and tell him or her to vote NO on H.R. 1913, The Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act.

And yes, I think Matthew Shepard was in on "his" own "murder." Do you think Matthew Shepard was really abducted and raped in "Morocco"? Do you think Shepherd Smith might have something to do with Matthew Shepherd? See this clip:

I finally found your "proof" that it is a lie, but if what you are saying is true, then why didn't it pass yet?? If the Dems shot down all of the Rep, then why didn't it pass?? It would seem the Rep's are still keeping it from happening. Also, next time you want to find "proof" and have people actually take it as such, perhaps you should provide a link where this info could be found. It's as simple as pressing "Ctrl C", then "Ctrl V".
