All I heard was a lot of desperate pleas not to fire him and the look on the Wookie's face told the story.
While she was standing on the stage with him, you could see the fear and sorrow in her eyes, all knowing that it was going to be a futile effort and the magic of 2008 was nowhere in sight.
Did President Obama deliver with his speech last night?

Look, if you voted for this guy four years ago because he gave a good speech or because it was historical, please consider voting smart this November. Your country is begging you.
Only a few Republican fools are not better off and my guess is it has something to do with taking your news from a station as wrong as Fox! "Lead a fool to water and then watch them complain." If you were not just complaining for 4 years straight, you would be much better off now. It's not my fault that you have been outfoxed, it is your own fault! There are great deals now on everything! When Bush was in office, the only great deal was fear. He gave it to us in free doses with his small "Terror" packets constantly. President Obama gives America Hope. Republicans hate hope. Hope can do a lot! Fear can only build an Army and then report on who dies, today.
** Unemployment - 43 straight months above 8% - 12.5 million out of work
** Labor force participation is at 63.5%, its lowest level since 1981
** Consumer debt growth was about 30% lower in 2Q than a year earlier
** $6+ trillion in additional federal debt under Obama
** household debt at an all-time high above 150% of income
** "In the first 19 months of the Obama administration, the federal debt ... increased by $2.5260 trillion, which is more than the cumulative total of the national debt ... that was amassed by all U.S. presidents from George Washington through Ronald Reagan"
** "The Democrats and President Obama have increased federal spending as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) to 25.3% ... for the first 130 years of the U.S.'s 224 year existence, federal spending as a percentage of GDP averaged around 2.5%"
As did the Democratic convention which eclipsed the Repbulican convention which had as much substance as their empty chair!
this just in folks, quoting facts is now childish, while telling those to do so is the height of maturity! - said no one ever.
If by "delivered" do you mean was it effective, truthful, accurate or well presented, then my answer would be NO.
Come on Shep, you are a reporter, surely you could have formulated a better question than that.
What can we expect after four years of oposition, demagogy, and politic games.
We can blame the unfunctional CONGRESS for unemployment, lack of initiatives, no increase taxes to corporations and millionary because they supposed to be the job create.
Almost 4000 bills the congress pass only 62 but what is worst they still getting their salary, pension, health benefit, money from the corporations, etc. while people were lossing their home, jobs and strugguling in many ways.
On an aside, the press had a democrat controlled house and senate for two years... just saying.
