Did Obama's ACORN Deliberately Manufacture an Economic Crisis?

"What do you mean, 'Obama's Acorn', I can see the responses before they even come. Let's take a look at his own words and see if that characterization is accurate: "I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work." Barack Obama Speech to ACORN, November 2007. (So there you have it, Obama even taking credit for the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on American voters - the Motor Voter registration scam.)

Have you ever heard of the "Cloward-Pliven Strategy of Manufactured Crisis"? It was put forth in the May 2, 1966 issue of "The Nation" magazine by two radical Coulumbia University sociology professors, Richard Cloward and Frances Piven (C&P0.;

It is a strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The Coward-Piven Strategy seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

Cloward and Piven were inspired by the radical socialist organizer Saul Alinsky, the very same man who founded the school at which Barack Obama learned his "community organizer" skills. In their "Nation" article, C&P; were specific about the kind of "crisis" they were trying to create: "By crisis we mean a publicly visible disruption in some institutional sphere. Crisis can occur spontaneously (e.g., riots) or as the intended result of tactics of demonstation and protest which either generate institutional disruption or bring unrecognized disruption to public attention.

C & P were also instrumental in the formation of the National Welfare Reform Organization (NWRO) with black activist George Wiley. The vast expansion of New York City welfare came as the result of NWRO's tactics, and sent the city into bankruptcy in 1975. Rudy Giuliani cited Cloward and Piven by name as being responsible for "an effort at economic sabotage."

ACORN, originally started as the Arkansas Community Organizations for Reform Now, was an offshoot of NWRO, started by a Wiley subordinate, Wade Rathke in 1970. Shortly thereafter ACORN went national, changing its name to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. They have never discarded, to this date, the C&P; strategy of manufactured crisis, and directly contributed to the "subprime mortgage crisis" through their demands for "NINJA" loans to unqualified buyers under the pretext of "affordable housing." And the Democrats went along with it - rewriting regulations during the Clinton administration to essentially force lenders to make loans to the uncreditworthy.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, headed by democrat acolytes JIm Johnson and Franklin Raines, then bought and sold those subprime mortgages, bundling them with other, less risky mortgages, as a "financial product", thus infecting our entire financial structure. When George Bush (of all people) warned twice of the systemic danger that was building, in 2001 and 2002, and asked for more regulation of Fannie and Freddie, it was Democrats, specifically Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, and a NY representatvie named Meeks, who savaged those tesitfying in favor of regulation, accused them of being against "affordable housing," and denied there was a problem.

Before you reply that the Republicans could have regulated Fannie and Freddie anyway because they controlled both houses of congress, the Republicans never had a sufficient, filibuster-proof majority in the senate to push anything through that the Democrats disagreed with - Democratic senators, led by the esteemable Chris Dodd, also opposed regulating Fannie and Freddie.

So what do you think? Were Democratics just too stupid to heed the warnings of George Bush, or is this a crisis manufactured according to the Cloward-Piven strategy that we are now facing, one of which Rahm Emanuel has said "never let a good (manufactured?)crisis go to waste"?

Manufactured Crisis. No doubt about it. Our nation is being "played" by these radical Democrats, and it is time Americans woke up and smelled the skunks. Creation of a nation of dependent sheep is the master plan of the Democrat party. If they succeed America will never be the same. My hope in the basic goodness of the American people is still strong. If we can have a strong conservative for whom to vote, we can pull America back from the brink of disaster.

It is not up to any government, Democrat or Republican dominated, to keep individuals from making mistakes or failing outright. The way to ultimate success is to double the failure rate, i.e. we learn and are made better individuals through our mistakes. The truth is that the American public is so averse to failure, that we beg the government to keep us from it in exchange for giving up more freedoms. If you dig deep enough, all of the wars of the 20th century were manufactured crisis that began when J.P. Morgan bought up a significant portion of the newspapers in 1917. If you control the information, you control the people.

It IS government's responsibility to promote economic freedom. The government cannot hold the hand of every business transaction across the nation. There WILL be fraud and that fraud needs to be addressed. But this idea that "if the government were only more powerful, we wouldn't have any problems/fraud" is simply not truth. There is no government large enough to legislate good morals. THAT is the real issue here: the decline of good morals. And the only real basis of good morals is being stripped from our culture by the liberals every chance they get. I pray that God Almighty brings about a bloodless revolution that removes the public platform of these Godless numbskulls.

Very well put! Did you know that a small cadre of law professors, beginning in the 70s and 80s had to actually reassert the fact that the Constitution protects economic liberties, because the liberal professors had so undermined the meaning of the Constitution in their "interpretations" of it.

Bernard Siegan, a law professor and associate of Milton Friedman at the University of Chicago, led the way with his books on land use regulation (the "taking" power) and a book entitled "Economic Liberties and the Constitution." The liberal law professors at the "elite" Ivy League schools at first attacked Prof. Siegan's premise but it has gained more and more acceptance over the years. ivy league schools attacked prof siegans premise gained acceptance years

I like it when fact are involved Good job!

As for ACORN there is an organization of previous and current ACORN members trying to sue ACORN to get them to open their books. http://www.acorn-8.net

Also, Rep Bauchman and Rep King are trying to get an investigation into this outfit. ACORN refuses to show anyone their books

I have one question after being on the board of a non-profit org. the federal law requires you to open the books and the minutes to any member that requests this in writing. ACORN as a non-profit as such is required to do the same..

Why are they being allowed to disregard these requests?

I also have been nagged by the thought of how did this potus get elected?
If you care to check out my blog letter to congress a copy oif it iso n its way to Pelosi

without a doubt! This is exactly why I do not blame Bush. I have ALWAYS blamed Congress and felt that someone or something else was behind it. I busted out laughing while watching the clip... the liberal demons are either stupid or blind...wait...perhaps both! Most especially Pelosi and Frank!

I heard about this the other day. It seems like this crisis popped up just in time to rescue Obama. He was losing grounds in the polls. It looks like this is their plan in the making.

What do you think would happen if the press would just ask the questions, or if the mainstream TV news channels would just tell Americans the truth about what has been going on for over 40 years?

Not only that, he headed up Project Vote which led to the Motor Voter act and election fraud on the most gignatic scale ever. He also worked for ACORN training "agitators." He is up to his neck in it, and there is no way he was not totally familiar with the Cloward-Piven Strategy.

I was posting all through the campaign about Obama's marxist-socialist ties. If you look at the man's history you cannot help but realize that virtually all of the influences on him from his earliest years have been marxist. His mother was known as a "fellow traveler;" the "mentor" he named in his book turned out to be Frank Marshall Davis, a card-carrying member of the Communist Party USA; he was trained in "community organizing" at a school founded by the radical socialist, Saul Alinsky; his political coming-out party was held at the home of the radical domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dhorn; he sought the endorsement of the New Party (Social Democrats) when he decided to run for office; and he sat for two decades soaking up the marxist Black Liberation Theology espoused by Jeremiah Wright.

We don't know what associations he had on college campuses at Occidental and Columbia because he has refused to release his records. However, Columbia is the very same radical university at which both Cloward and Pivin taught when Obama attended it.

    Sunshine...Former Democrat
Ken, after all the research I did, this was a plan by the socialist Acorn and Obama to sabotage the American dream and way of life.. to institute socialism and change this country forever .. however, the insidious way that they go about this.. all pretense, all demagoguery, all lies, back room deals, 180 degree changes in stated policy, hypocrisy and more.. to gain the control and power they need now to finish us off.. it will be financial ruin first, then inflation and depression and then martial law.. they will change the constitution to meet their requirements.. the Cloward-Piven strategy is almost complete.. and George Soros is the man behind it..if you click on the attached diagram you will see just some of the associations.. there are literally hundreds of associations just with Acorn alone that aren't even on here..it is amazing, complex, totally partisan and bias, and all meant to destroy the system of capitalism in America and therefore change the government.
