I can't believe that anyone would try to make the case that the reason for all the poor stats on the graphic was a direct result of the current president. The economy was spiraling down the toilet shedding over 750k private sector jobs per month before Obama even took office. It was a near total financial collapse and it was both the TARP and the ARRA stimulus that kept us from having another full blown depression. It was so bad that's its going to take years to make a complete recovery
And in case you haven't noticed were down to only one war now and we just laid the groundwork for pulling our combat troops out of Afghanistan. asr

Thank you. A Perdomo would be nice, but, if you're like me, you couldn't afford them.

Nope. They're from Nicaragua. While the legend of Cuban cigars lives on, many of the producers from other couintries are offering a product as wonderful as the originals.
Nicaragua, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, all have great products. I think the Cuban government is actually stifling experimentation in improving the quality of the varieties grown there.
Tobacco is very much like grapes when it comes to wine. The varity is one thing, but the terroir is at least as important. Next the blending of the various tobaccos go to make up a particular style. It is important to the producer to maintain as consistent a blend as possible.

Well thank you Racefish for the interesting info on the cigar. Cigars are a work of art aren't they? IMO there is nothing more wonderful than the aroma of a good cigar.

I like cigars but I'm not a cigar or wine ponce, as some people like to call them. Both are subjective in that you can listen to people extol the virtues of a cigar or wine, but if you try either and don't like them, their blather meant nothing.
Don't rely on other people's opinions, just their recommendations. Try it and if you like it, fine. Don't think you have to like it because some "expert" told you to.

Fannie and Freddie were at heart of crisis

Bush tried 3 times to reign in Fannie and Freddie, he was blocked by guess who, Frank in the house and Dodd in the senate.

Fannie & Freddie were just a small part of the problem. Baer Sterns had to be bailed out with $20 Billion dollars to keep them from going under due to their toxic investments, The Lehman Bros. were allowed to go under at the Administration's behest, and Goldmann Sachs got billions of the added $700 billion needed to keep us from going into another great Depression. Sachs was especially egregious because they gave a $500,000,000 retirement package to Hank Paulson who engineered his company's disaster.

Suffice to say "there were many hands in the pot" but the insistance of allowing the banking industry to go unfettered without accountability or oversight was just plain nuts, and now you have the republicans once again wanting to revert back to the same old policies and decisions that got us into this financial mess to begin with. That is what Dodd/Frank is doing, making sure that we don't have another meltdown to the greed and corruption that was so prevalant leading up to '7. So what does Romney promise? To eliminate it.

Mess is an understatement. I've read the ( Sec.of Treas.) Hank Paulsen interview and fully understand just how close this country was to going into a dark hole in 2008. Paulsen said Bush asked him, " Hank, what are we going to do?" Paulsen then sat down and said he was shaking so badly he couldn't hold the phone. Read Condi Rice's book and you will understand what constant bedlam the Bush admin was. That admin invaded a country that wished us no ill will because Darth Cheney could smell that oil.... that oil that now goes to Iran and Russia. 4300 hundred Amercans dead and thousands left severely burned and/or quadraplegics.

The party of Defiicits Don't Matter had no problem with Bush and his Stimulus One... " "Everybody go shopping at the mall !" ......which was huge failure because people did not. They paid down debt or stuck it under a mattress. Along comes Obama with Stimulus Two, of which 40% went to tax relief, and the bleating and braying from the Republican pasture has never stopped. They are perfectly in tune and non stop

On top of the mess have been other world wide events that must be death with.... the Arab Spring, the BP Oil spill, North Korea's saber rattling, the ongoing Afghanistan quagmire, and constant irritants like frisky Secret Service mem...

What has been the Republicans' efforts? WHAT? The only thing they have done is watch women's wombs and their medications very very carefully and promise a chicken in every pot and blue skies forever if voters will just give them one more chance. HELL NO! We've been there with the same players.

you are a moron ! Hell your actually a liar posting pure crap like its on sale ...Obama has faced NOTHING ! If he was not a communist retard he could have fixed the tiny little almost not worth mentioning problems that HE HELPED create in the first place ....President George W Bush took office with a 7 trillion dollar hole blown in the GDP and faced 4 trillion dollars worth of natural disasters + 9/11 ....Obama started with a 4 trillion dollar loss (over 3 years ) and no disasters other than the ones he himself created -

If the person in the white house were a republican instead of a marxist the democrats would be wildly protesting in the streets and demanding his impeachment. I think even deep down dems want Obama out, but saying so would admit they were wrong in 2008 and that they were duped. They cant admit that, so they perpetuate the lie- no matter how far fetched it may be.

"Deep down" Democrats are scared to death that the flip-flopping, selfish, unconcerned, coreless phony might prevail and then we will witness yet another disaster. Especially since one of your titans and the one who actually runs the repbulicans, Grover Norquist only wants a republican president who will just sign the legislation that he and the far right has decreed.
