"The serious contention has been made by some that our Lord Jesus Christ could sin when here upon earth. This is of such vital importance that I feel constrained to point out the fallacy of such a theory."

"The most solemn implications follow upon this false idea. For, if the Lord Jesus could sin when He was upon earth during His sojourn here, then He can still sin now that He is in heaven, for our Lord passed through no change whatever as to His essential Personality and Being when He ascended to the throne of God, nor when He rose from the dead. Hebrews 13:8 assures us of this when it says that "Jesus Christ is the Same-yesterday, today and forever."

jesus disrespect the Jewish lieders calling them brood of viper hypocrites and so on in direct disobedience respecting your leaders.
Jesus committed sin in his heart according to his own teachings while he was tempted 3 times.
jesus was violent when he overturned the tables at the temple.
    He violated the Sabbath law..
I know of at least 3 more time it shows plainly that jesus committed sin... This is only in 3 years of his ministry. When he was 12 without permission left or ran away!, and his parents where worry. How much sin do you thing he committed during his 21 years of absents where there is no records of his whereabouts?

There is such thing as, "original sin." According to Genesis 3, the sin committed by Adam and Eve is passed down to their descendants, which is perceived to be the whole human race. Since Jesus was a descendant of Mary and Joseph, I believe that he has sinned. This might be controversial because he also has the power of God to forgive sins.

Look around the world through clear-thinking eyes. Do you see morality in everyone or immorality in everyone. If you don't say both then you deceive yourself. Why then, can we vote on history or take a poll on whether our only hope (Jesus) has deceived us?
What do percentages of what greedy and selfish humans beings mean? It only shows how off we are from the single truth that is out there.
Look at some near death and out of body experiences, then look at what quantum mechanics and theoretical physics has to say about information in a closed system. Indeed it confirms that our consciousness, after we die, stays collected and travels out into the universe while still sensing the environment.
Our only hope is a merciful God that will collect the justified conciousness(es) on the right side, and our unjustified conciousness(es) on the left and treat the justified. Otherwise we float out in the universe in sure torment and insanity as time lapses and we have no choice but to reflect on our selfish, insecure time on earth.

But an all powerful God can come into the world in human flesh and not sin, substitute himself for us, and reveal that to us in a well-preserved work of the Holy Spirit. Though that doesn't "Jive" with our sinful nature, it's our only hope. Fortunately, we didn't make all that up and all evidence points that being the case. Faith isn't hoping there is a God. More often the not, faith is used in the bible as the believe that God is who He says He is. It's all too obvious there is a God, if you don't think so then you deceive yourself. He justifies Himself with Himself. Circular reasoning is inevitable, are you going to choose the one in witch there is no hope, or are you going to have faith in the only things that can give you hope after your life and believe he is whom he says he is? You decide.

In order to make something new the old must be done away with, which is the new covenant. All things are new because the foundation of living without sin was laid that he himself could die for sinners or else it was and is all for naught!

I clicked on the wrong option by mistake. I mean to say "YES" he did commit sin. Biblical writers borrowed from other cultures and religious beliefs. Poor Jesus, if you notice in the bible, had very little to say. So it was not Jesus who lived in a backward society and yet managed to steal from other society. It was a group hundreds of learned people who committed this crime. Evidence is found in books written around first century. Of these only 66 books made their way into today's Bible. Unfortunately, Christians destroyed most of this literature. And history is a witness to that.

If Jesus sinned, then God sinned. Christ is Emmanuel(God with us). Heb. 7:26 says that Jesus who"became us "(speaking of His incarnation) is SEPARATE FROM SINNERS.The only people who limit Christ's saving power and suggest such false teachings as this are the salvation-by works crowd. You can find NO FAULT in the CHILD Jesus when you read the account of Him as a child( Lu.2:39-52) The answer to the instance of His lingering from His parents for three days is the same as when the religious bunch accused Him of "breaking the sabbath" (Mt.12:2). He COULD NOT SIN because He was "LORD" no matter what He did.No religious person can say Jesus sinned in Mt.12: 1-8. If you do, according to this passage you have "condemned the guiltless".

You answer seems to leave out the most important part, where Jesus was obeying His Heavenly Father. So in this He did not sin.

Luke 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?
Luke 2:50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
Luke 2:51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... 1:14 - And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,

John 5:17,18 - “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” Therefore the Jews sought to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.

40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

From the distorted stories of bible it is hard to believe if Jesus of Bible was actually crucified let alone "died and rose on the third day" for my sins. For that matter aside from the Biblical sources there is hardly any external evidence if Jesus ever lived.

A problem a lot of people fall into is being short sighted. They don't think far enough back in history to understand that the Biblical sources where not always Biblical sources. They were merely all separate external documents, which contained evidences of God's Old Covenant by the Law and the New Covenant by the sacrifice of His son Jesus, that were grouped together at some point in history into a book. So to say that because it's in the Bible it is just a story is just based on your opinions foundation being already laid from predetermined bias that anything "Biblical" is not true. Try to get past you indoctrination into the false religion of Darwinism and Humanism. They are lies of Satan that are meant to blind you to the truth just as they have.
  • Tom McN... NotByWorx 2012/04/25 13:36:19

That's a bit hypocritical, to tell him that he is short sighted and then state that his beliefs are lies from satan. Regardless of how much of the bible is actually true, religion is and has always been used to direct and control the masses. Why do you insist that people that had no clue of the reality of the universe and science, had the answer.
