No, they are not "accessories to a crime." To be an accessory, a child would have to be capable of some measure of control of their parents actions and their own status, give some material assistance and have actual knowledge that a crime is being committed.

Being an accessory IS a crime. You cannot be both innocent and an accessory.

It's pretty clear that minor children are innocent of the actions of their parents as they "affect neither their parents' conduct nor their own status."

If you have pretty clear law that states otherwise, or that you think supercedes what the Supreme Court has said, please provide it.

Meanwhile, here is some more law that's pretty clear if you can read:

Article II, Section 2 of the United States Constitution.

“The President … shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.”

That is an exercise in futility.

Obama will simply fall back on his Constitutional power to pardon. Using that, he doesn't have to answer to anyone; not to you, not to whoever "we" is, not to Congress, not really, even to the Supreme Court.

The law is pretty clear if you can read.

And once it's done, no one can change it. Not even a new president

Also, you can't get a conviction through the Senate, even if the House votes out a bill of impeachment. Even THAT is doubtful, because there is no crime of any kind on his part, and the sharper Republican Congress members know that stretching this thing out will further hurt Romney (and themselves) with Hispanic citizens.

If he even mentions his Article II powers, the federal courts will probably not even hear it.

It's best for the Republican party to recognize they've been out-maneuvered this time, roll with the punches and try to salvage something with Hispanic voters.
