Barrack Obama begins his criminal act by painting a picture that is false and misleading. What he is really doing is waving the white flag which BOTH parties have done over the last 30 years. He lies when he says Republicans walked away from their own "Dream Act" Bill. What he and ALL our political leaders need to understand is that this is about National Security, our Culture and our national continuity! What he is doing is campaigning and throwing out an ad that says if democracy doesn't work, then he will DICTATE! He should be FIRED!!!

To me, the president is saying let us return back to the "America: the melting pot" part of our history. America from its founding has never been just Americans. It is a collection immigrants; legal and illegal; from different nations and different walks of life. For "Americans" who gripe at the president, past and present, saying that they are picking immigrants over natural born citizens is obsured. It is capitalism at its finest. If you are unemployed, you most do everything in your power to make yourself attractive to employers. Immigrants strong suit is that they are willing to do more for less; so you have to out do what immigrants are doing. Also in the Declaration of Independence, there is a part about all men are created equal with unalienable rights such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The government NEVER promised happiness or any of the other rights, just that you have those rights. In so I believe these rights extend to the children of illegals faced with deportation. It is not amnesty the president is giving, it is a time extension so that they have ability to pursuit the American dream and self-stopping their own deportation. So my fellow "Americans" get ready, because there's new competition in town; their called "Americans who want to be American". Also I thought competition was good? Isn't that the point of Capitalism? So if you cant stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen, because reality just got real.

Aside from amnesty being a complete lie the dream act was originally a republican proposal. It wasn't until Obama supported it that they decided to oppose it.

If republicans want to continue with their treasonous one term agenda of obstruction and filibuster then they leave no alternative but to be circumnavigated.

Yes, and think about it. None of us or our ancestors were actually invited to come to the Americas. The Spanish speaking people were here and intermingled with the natives long before most Europeans. Like the native Americans there were parts of the country that we just overran them. The Southwest is heavily still Spanish speaking I I remind myself we came to them not the other way around.
Thinking of the Europeans look at what they have brought to the planet. White Europeans moved into so many parts of Africa and shipped off slaves to their so called New World. Yes, and some rival tribes even sold or gave their prisoners to the slavers but that did not absolve white Christians from doing what they did for profit. Pretty soon large parts of Africa were controlled by white Europeans and the natives where treated like dirt. We cannot even brag that we left behind a civil court system and a democratic form of government so many African countries fell apart when the colonist left. South Africa is still struggling to make up for years of neglect of the natives.
Now I think the US has a chance to show the world that we are a true melting pot and that all races and creeds are welcome.
Who in your family came first? A grandfather, a great grandfather or further back. What does it matter it was a continent that the white man took over and nobody gave him permission.

Besides, he's not LEGALLY president since his father was not a US citizen at the time of his birth.

And even if it was someone who was legally president, he would not have the legal authority to bypass Congress on something like this. Congress has not seen fit to create any law allowing such a thing and for a president (which Obama is NOT) to do such a thing is an attempt to usurp the power of Congress. Can you spell "dictator"?

Article II, Section 2 of the United States Constitution.:

“The President … shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.”

This is something he campaigned on; "The Dream Act", but it is only a temporary fix and it has rules to be complied with. It only covers children brought here by their parents and the children had no control over this. They are good students and will be a credit to this country when they become citizens. Some of them have served in the military and are worthy of consideration for citizenship. I see nothing wrong with it. Also, subsequent presidents can change or eliminate it. I know Republicans don't want them admitted as citizens, but I think they earn it if they serve our country and are outstanding young people.

The kids didn't choose to come here, so they broke no law... they were brought here, illegally, but that's for their parents to be punished, not them... he's discussing children who were raised here and educated here and work here... that's more damn American than half of the lazy bums who were born there.

I'm glad you're not the one who gets to make that decision.
