Romney posed a serious question. President Obama provided a silly answer. And Team Obama’s Sesame Street spot is going to backfire.

The debate is not about Big Bird. Or PBS. It’s about making hard choices. America gets that. And America is looking for a serious leader who is willing to make tough choices.

We need a president that will put forth a budget. No budget in over 3 years. $16 trillion in debt and climbing. PBS needs to stand on their own instead of taxpayer money. We have to make some serious and hard choices. You cannot run for your problems !

I like sesame street, Big bird, but I believe romney brought up a good point, why are taxpayers giving so much PBS station, people have donated throught the years.

I just checked the facts and this funding is equal to every person spending $1.35 per year to fund PBS. But then again, it is more than Bush allocated for his two wars.

But I'm tired of paying even $1.35 a year to something I don't want to fund! I HATE all that money spent to take care of people who won't work and their brood of kids, too! And I hate flying the Obuma family all around the world constantly so they can go to places I've never been and can't afford to go......just like the Obuma family can't on THEIR own.

As a teacher and parent of college-age children....I can say I enjoy Sesame Street (and Big Bird and the whole PBS line-up), but the bottom line - no $ is no $.

I would like to take a trip to Hawaii (and a whole lot of other perks), but no $ is no $.

It is time for the country to wake-up.

    We are broke.

I think it was rather funny that PBS called obama and told him to stop using Big Bird in his campaign.
That was right on the heels of AARP doing the same.
That is 2 left wing organizations just gave obama the boot. Now that is funny and fitting.

We have excess debt, excess spending, a growing deficit, a huge economic mess at the end, unemployment(Yeah, right... 7.8 percent.), the World going to Hell in a handbasket, along with asundry problems and Incumbent choses to focus on Big Bird. Is this a WTF moment, or what?

Big bird has the opportunity to vote and Chris Stevens does not. Focus is not on protecting our Embassies but Big Bird takes center stage. Really?

$416 million is just too much to spend on PBS. Especially since the PBS employees have become rich off the rights to these shows. Big Bird can make it on his own!

But they always claim that 'it's a tiny drop in the bucket' compared to the rest of the budget.

Yes and spending $500 on a bottle of wine is small compared to the entire familie's budget but we don't recommend working families drinking Rothschild '72 either.
