Some truth to that, but I think most people even on government assistance would prefer to work if that was an option.

    Here's an anology:

If you're playing musical chairs and there are fewer chairs than there are people playing the game, somebody is going to get left standing when the music stops. You can blame that individual for not paying attention, being too slow, being afraid to sit down or whatever, but there will still be somebody without a chair. That's simply how the game is played.

It does not matter which party hols the purse strings.... tax payers are still treated like a huge ATM. I do not mind being a tax payer when it benefits Americans. But it pisses me off greatly that we have schools falling down and so old they cannot be safely wired for the technology kids need to learn today. But we are building schools in Afghanistan and making certain they have new computers.

The questioner has two very broad generalizations, but no facts to back them up.

thats a pretty good summary although some of the people on welfare are good people struggling and they are working just still coming up short so we should help the ones who need it even if it means helping the trash because id much rather give it to someone whos struggling than some rich guy eho doesnt need or deserve the money

I am currently unemployed. I get $168.00 in unemployment. Do you seriously think I would rather get the paltry sum of $ 168.00 weekly then earning $ 460.00 a week? That's insane logic. I struggle to pay my bills, but I do pay them. My family has had to cut out things and oh I don't do Starbucks, don't (never have had) cable, cut my own hair, do my own nails, so I have never had any of those expenses.

Trust me, I would rather go to a job, every single day than to be living on this paltry sum and struggling. It is a misnomer that people seem to think those of us on unemployment do not want to work. I have been unemployed 7 months now and I have filled out nearly 1000 applications along with sending out my resume. I know I am not the only one. My child has to do without because I am out of work and the fact that it is due to me and my inability to get hired tries my very soul to the core!!

Well, dang. I can't believe it, I actually agree with you. Well, most of it, I don't think that "everyone" doesn't want to work. But yeah, the middle class gets screwed.

Given that there are 4 people unemployed for every 1 job right now and many of those do not pay a living wage anyway it is deeper than not wanting to

Both Democrats and Republicans believe you are government chattel. Your objective is to demonstrate otherwise.
