The Democratic National Convention has commenced, which means that the party has to codify its position on issues into the party's platform. This puts the Democrats in a dangerous position as they try to appease all the special interest groups. Some special interest groups have more clout than others, which means they get more mentions and priority in the agenda. The DNC platform reflects the will of the party and its priorities.
The 2012 Democratic platform mentions Global Warming (aka "Climate Change") more often than the deficit. The Republicans quickly pointed out this fact in a social media post: “Democrat Party Platform mentions ‘climate change’ 18 times. Deficit (only) 9 times.”

That may cost us all lots more money in the long run .
But at this moment in time , the Economy should be No.1 on list.

Hmmm...Republicans/conservati... who are their "special interest" groups?
NRA
Wall Street
Banks
Big oil, nat gas, coal
Realtors
These are the biggies...many more smaller ones.
Point is...I don't want the SH readers who aren't as informed as others to go around thinking that Republicans/conservatives don't have any "special interest" groups that they kowtow to or brown-nose...they do!
Global climate change can't be ignored either though, 97% of climate scientists say it's a major problem that must be addressed, and if you have any doubt go to Glacier National Park. It is nearly devoid of glaciers, and will be devoid of them by the next presidential election.
I'm sure all of the 23 million plus unemployed are doing likewise.
They are too brain washed to see and hear the truth. And the one posting above-it surprises me that that one is deceived.
No intelligence allowed.
that is how I spell it.
